I saw that auction for 2499 last night. Guy must be crazy. Sad part is there is probably someone out there crazy enough to pay it. That would be pretty good return on your money though.

That's sweet! I really would like to get a staff bag for all my extra clubs sitting around. Of course I wouldn't get something pretty like that and let it go to waste. Sometime in the next year or so I'll probably look for a good used Titleist staff bag...$1500 is a bit out of my range.

Fairways and Greens.

They have this material called "cardboard." Apparently it can be fashioned into boxes that, when not urinated upon or left in the snow for two days on a porch despite the "signature required" sticker on it, are quite durable.

I'd look into storing your clubs in those. P.S. I walk, so a Cameron staff bag is simply not practical.

If anybody wants to get me this bag I don't really have a problem with that; just ask me for my address.
I'm looking at getting the Titleist 804.OS irons soon.... man they're sweet.

I think Jeff might have some he could sell you... the center of the clubfaces are wear-free.

Nice bag, but that price is hilarious. Cheers to whoever buys at those premiums. :p

Great spirits will always encounter violent opposition from mediocre minds.

Ouch.

I think that's better than having that scuff mark on top of a driver from the one time you went right under it and popped it up. Every time you line it up you're reminded of that terrible swing. I did that to an old TaylorMade driver and it's one of the reasons I got rid of it.

Fairways and Greens.

    • Interesting that it's no penalty, but then again, I can't imagine someone would purposefully put their foot out there in this situation or one like it.  And then there was the time someone purposefully deflected his own ball during a major, but that's very different too. The only time I can recall a ball I hit hitting another player or their equipment was ages ago -- over a decade and a half ago.  I had a 3' putt for an 89 and someone (a random pairing, not someone I knew) decided it was a good time for goaltending practice.  That wouldn't fall under this rule, though (and it wasn't in a tournament anyway). Thanks for continuing to share these, Dave!  I always find these interesting.
    • Day 51 (29 Apr 26) - Worked with a few of the golf team kids plus my grandson (he’s too young for the team as it’s middle-high school age and he’ll be 10 Sat).  He put on a small hitting clinic (hitting off the same tees as the rest of the boys) - one of the older kids called him a “coach”.  Worked in a few shots for myself - had the light bag: driver, 7w, 4 - 6 - 8 - Pw - Sw (DCI 962’s except the Sw a 981) and Zebra putter….got in some great tee shots, a couple of recovery and an awesome up and down for bogie: 55 yds out, hitting 4th shot due to 2nd getting tangled in limbs - see the window I need to hit for a tight spinner with the Sw - nail it to a postage letter distance from the cup for a tap in bogie….my kind of practice.
    • Day 21, April 29.  Before going to work this morning, I worked in my indoor practice room for 20 minutes.   This was entirely 6-iron shots with the usual step.  Video yesterday showed me that I'm still straightening my trail leg too much (leading to the backswing length issue I've been working to fix), so I focused on not doing that in my rehearsal swings.
    • Exactly correct.   I was absolutely certain about the penalty (none here), but the bit about where they play from can be really confusing the first time you read it.  In my big paper rule book, i used colored highlighters to make it clear.  Good thing I did, at the Cascades there's little to no cell service, so using the rules app on the phone wasnn't possible.
    • Taking a crack it, but looks pretty clear. 11.1  Ball in Motion Accidentally Hits Person or Outside Influence. a. No Penalty to Any Player If a player’s ball in motion accidentally hits any person (including the player) or outside influence: There is no penalty to any player. This is true even if the ball hits the player, the opponent or any other player or any of their caddies or equipment. Reading further down it looks like they have to play the ball as it lies. No replay from the previous spot.
