I'm looking for a new set of shoes to replace my HiTec's. The HiTec's are nice, and really broken in but after 8 months it's time for a new set. My dogs are barking after walkin 9 and after 18 they've done crawled under the porch.

I'd like to know what your opinions are. I'm looking for a real comfortable set cuz I walk 80% of time. Looking for <$130. I've got my eyes on the Adidas Tour 360's and 360 II's. They're on sale everywhere for like $130.

Thanks in advance.

yea i'd definitely recommend those adidas tour shoes. I personally like the traditional FootJoy type look. But you cant beat that performance for like 110 bucks. Im also looking for some new shoes....and i'm having trouble finding a better deal than those 360's.

I hear good things about Ecco and the TW shoes.

however, by no means would you regret the tour shoes.

Shoe purchases are really not something you want to base on other peoples' opinions. Every shoe manufacture's shoes are shaped differently (the "last") - sometimes vastly different. One person's "super comfy" could be another person's "medieval torture device".

You really need to just go to the store and start trying on pair after pair. Footjoy is a good place to start because they have many different "lasts".
MEN'S LASTS Classics Laser Last- Full rounded toe character, standard fit across forefoot and instep, with a slightly narrow heel. The Classics Laser Last is a composite of thousands of digital scans of the FootJoy Laser Fitting System. Aintree Last- Rounded toe character, standard fit across forefoot, instep, and heel. I just recieved a new sales flier from TGW in the mail yesterday.

There were some great looking NIKE deals in there.

I started back playing in May and asked around here about shoe recomendations for walking golf. The athletic style shoes were highly recomended but I went, instead, with a pair of FJ Contours. I regret doing so. They are too wide and have allowed my foot to slide outward badly.

I'm trying something different next time. I'll give NIKE a go......I think.

Check the sales prices on TGW....looked great to me.

I had a bad experience with Adidas 360's. I walk 80+% of the time, and the adidas shoe was extremely comfortable but the waterproof "sock" did not hold up well at all. I had one set last approx. 3 months, returned them to Adidas (customer service was good) and the 2nd set only lasted about 9 months. Finally gave up. Found a pair of Etonic's (their top pair, just can't remember the model) and they have been very good so far this year. I also found a pair of PUMA at their outlet store - funky looking, but comfortable. They are not water proof, so just need to watch for dry afternoons not dewey mornings.

I picked up a nice pair of Nike's at the tail end of last season. I found them to be very uncomfortable and hated them. I picked up a pair of Walter Hagen's and liked them but didn't wear them much at all. I found myself wearing my Footjoy sandels most of the time when it was hot. I ordered a black pair of Dryjoys and found them to be a great shoe and very comfortable, however my only complaint was the laces. For the price of the shoes, the laces are beyond crappy and cheap. Great shoe otherwise.

my 360 II's have worked well for me over the last two years... still pretty waterproof

avoid ecco's... a majority of their classic designed shoes have four spikes on the heel (which is always a benchmark of a cart shoe)

whatever you choose, make sure there are only two spikes on the heel

Im not sure i would agree with that. Both Classic Tours and Classic Dry Premiers from FJ both have 4 spikes in the heel. I have both and they are by far the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. I also have the 360 II's and they cannot compare IMHO to either one of these designs.

I went with the Contour Series Footjoys this year and I designed my shoes

http://www.golfshoesonly.com/myjoys/

I had foot surgery last year, so I don't walk all my rounds. But if the weather's nice, I definitely like to walk. These are the best golf shoes I've put my feet in. They were amazingly comfortable from the very first 18 I played in them with no break-in blisters, etc.

They were about $160 shipped to my door, but not much more than you had originally priced the Adidas (I think they list on the above site for $129.99).

I just ordered a pair of these the other night. I don't think that that picture really does them justice though- and for 80 dollars its a pretty good deal.

I just bought the etonic G Sok shoes. Man I love these things.
I havent played in wet conditions with them yet but they are very comfy.
They are the spikeless design.

I'm in agreement with the "don't ask others what shoe is the best" idea. Every brand fits differently and no 2 feet are alike. That being said.......I avoid FJ. Their better quality shoes look like something you'd wear to a wedding with those pointy toes. I wear a size 13 and they look like kayaks on my feet. I think FJ was happy enough being the leader and benchmark years ago and never put thought into comfort. Now they're trying to catch up comfort and style wise with Nike and such. Just MO of course.

Im going to have to disagree with you on this one. Ive walked many rounds in my Cool Hydromaxs and have never had any complaints. In fact I would swear by them. Now the regular saddles are not as good for walking, but still better then the Nikes I used to have. Give me a couple of weeks and I can give you a review on the new C Force's.

Different strokes for different folks I guess. My classic Dry Premiers and Classic Tours are by far more comfortable than my shoes by adidas and Nike.

    • Day 27 (7 Dec 25) - Got in a few swings with 9i and hard foam balls in backyard.  Setup weight fwd (rebuilt left foot really lets me feel the weight in a slightly painful way) - kept the backswing to around 9 o’clock focusing on contact and resulting divot pattern.  Like how the hard foam balls come off the face (almost like real balls in sound).  A good abbreviated session as I only able to hit about a dozen balls in the fading light.
    • Day 117 12-7 A bit of chipping practice today. Full swing- hit some real balls to see where Im at.
    • Not the part I was replying to: Handicaps did not go down much (like 0.14 on average IIRC?) when we went from 10/20*0.96 to 8/20. And a good chunk of that was from the +s.
    • I think he meant in the UK. The old system was completely different from the new one. 10/20 x 0.96 vs 8/20 would really only impact very low handicaps I think. The 0.96 serves to increase differentials for plus differentials, where 8/20 vs 10/20 works to lower differentials for all. I don't know many plus golfers who would be upset that their index got lower. A lot of really good players don't even really keep their handicaps up-to-date. They're much more interested in their WAGR rankings which get them entries to certain events.
    • Day 433 - 2025-12-07 Got some work in after Junior Elite before a night of sports (and the return of my wife!). Backswing work. Similar to what a lot of my juniors are doing.
