I finally broke down and bought a Studio Select Scotty

All i have to say is it is incredible. I had a pro-platinum Scotty and a newport detour but they aren't even close to the feel of the studio select. The head is so much more solid than before, the extra weighting really helps. Worth the $300 imo.

I got the newport 2 34".

And the 2nd question, *we* can't change the weights but you can send your putter to the factory and they will change them for you.

people on puttertalk.com have crafted their own wrenches to remove the weight... you can also find some replacement weight floating around the net

I sent mine (the 1.5) in to be cut from 35 to 33, add weight, get stamped and all that. But before I sent it in I called the service center - they assured me that it will be like having the factory-made 33" - no way to tell it was ever a 35" - I'm super glad they decided to make these so customizable for anyone. Scotty's always accomidated the tour player's specific preferences. Now regular people like us can enjoy that privilege! I just sent it in, so it'll be gone for a while .
