To ProV1's. It gives the most versatility of shots. I spun a full 5-wood backwards today, then purposely let a 9-iron release 20 feet. And I'm sure I could do anything in between. They are seriously long, as well.I wil only buy the X-OUTS since they are 15$ off.

We had about 9 inches of rain earlier in the week, so the greens were responding a bit.
And I hit it pretty high, not a pop up, it was solid, but nice and high.

And it wasn't rip it back 20 feet. It was only 3-4 feet of backspin.

Should have included that in the original message

Glad you found a ball that works for you. I disagree a little bit with the versatility. I think the Pro V1x and the Taylor Made Black are far more versatile to me, but it is a preference. And that 5wood, is flat out amazing. I have never in my 20 years of golfing, seen someone pull a "full 5 wood" back any feet never mind 3-4 feet. I haev seen them land dead, but that is serious spin to get with a club with such little loft.

forget the fact that you pulled a 5 wood back, im more impressed at the accuracy from 200+ yards out, not to mention the eagle eyesight to see something spin back 3 feet from 660 feet out.

Miraculous.

Longer than what?

Does anyone really think that amongst quality golf balls there is a distance advantage? I have used them all and I seriously think that they're all the same. Spin is something else, and the ability to spin the ball back for a lot of players simply means that they're going to face a longer first putt because they're usually short anyway. I think you might be giving a little too much cerdit to the ball. Re 5 wood backspin. Must have been a serious headwind.

The closest thing I have come to that is a 3i. It wasn't even really a pull back. It hit the green and jump sidways and came maybe an inche and a half back and about 6 inches to the right (of course away from the pin). Complete accident as well, couldn't do it again if I tried.

I never said it was "longer", just "long". Please actually read what I said. That also means my second post, I said the greens were very receptive, so spin on clubs was pretty exagerated from the normal super firm conditions we have. I play the ball because I want to stop all my irons where they hit, a few feet of roll either direction is fine for me. I dont play them because I can rip them back.

Pulling back a 5 wood no matter what the conditions with a full swing is amazing. Like I said in my 20 years of golfing I have never seen a 5 wood spin back. We have seen them stop dead, but not spin back ever. Great job.

This is why the ProV1 is the #1 golf ball. :p

Like I said, I would love to see it. I have never seen it in 20 years of playing 2-3 times a week and watching golf all the time on TV.

Getting a 5-wood to spin back would be amazing. The lowest club I could get to spin back would be a 7-iron. I do love Pro V1's and V1x's though.

I think I am with you BUT my switch will be to the PROV1X. I started this year with TP Reds, tried Noodle+, tried TP Blacks, Srixon and most recently shot a 5 over with a B330-S....but I have been using the PROV1X's lately and can't say I have hit anything this straight and this far. Nice feel too and checking. Great to putt with too.

I have callaway tour i and tour ix on the list but I really think the prov1x is my new ball. I just wonder what Ill do with all these tp reds, noodle+ and bridgestones! haha.
