J,

I don't know yet. I'm currently researching which ones are going to be less expensive on a yearly basis.

I've been eyeballing this sonocaddie. Looks to be pretty good?? Any suggestion?

No, but looks good. I don't care for the finders though.

Personally, I have the Bushnell v2

But I've played with people that have the Callaway, and they seemed very happy with it. It's made by Nikon, so I doubt you would be disappointed. I would definitely recommend a vertical model (like the Callaway and the Bushnell V2) over the horizontal models (like other Bushnells). I just think the vertical models are significantly easier to stabilize.

J-

That's what I have. Sonocaddie V2. I bought it because it had a lot of courses mapped and no annual fee. (Annual fee on top of an already expensive piece of electronic equipment is a big pet peeve of mine.) The website isn't as slick as SkyCaddie, but I've never had a problem with my Sonocaddie. It just works. I've checked it against distance markers and my Pinseeker, and the Sonocaddie is always accurate within the margin for error for GPS. I also think Costco may carry them, which means fantastic return policy. Hope this helps!

I used a gift card I had for Callaway and picked one of those up. I think mine is the sealed one though. Their made by Nikon, so its a quality company. As far as durability, ive dropped mine a few times already and its held up well. Compared to GPS on the cart its distance is accurate. Its pretty simple, just point a click. The only negative I have is, I wish they put some sort of stabilization in it as its can be tricky to get a pin with a tree behind it in some wind or with a shaky hand like mine.

I use the Sonocaddie and it's great! Simple, inexpensive, no yearly subscription!

No need for color or fancy rotating green stuff, just give me the distance to the front, center, and rear. Once I am withing 50-60 yards I don't need it, it becomes a feel thing at that point. 90% of the time I use it for my second shoot on a par 4 and second and third shot on a par 5.

Let's stick to topic. For the record, the topic isn't "which rangefinder should I buy."

I mirror the earlier posts: it was the doofus using it, not the rangefinder. I'm sped up by using the rangefinder.
