I got ping i10 and now I am wanting to reshaft and put project x shafts in them and which should I go with 6.0 or 5.5. I know I have demoed them and I love them I am just not sure which ones would be best for the pings. any help would be great I am using stiff flex AWT right now so just let me know what you think.

There isn't a certain shaft that works for a set of clubs, it's the shaft flex that fits you. You should go get fit to find out what frequency you need.

Here's what I play:

Titleist 907 D2 10.5* UST ProForce V2 76-S | Titleist 906F4 18.5* Aldila VS Proto "By You" 80-S | Titleist 585H 21* Aldila VS Proto "By You" 80-S | Titleist ZB 4-PW TTDG S300 | Bob Vokey Spin Milled Oil Can 54.10 | Bob Vokey Spin Milled Oil Can 60.08 | Scotty Cameron Red X5 33" |

i feel being fitted is over rated i was just wondering what is the diffrents between the 6.0 and 5.5

6.0's are stiffer then 5.5, IIRC the 5.5's are but as close to a DG S300 as you can get standard from Rifle, and 6.0's are like in-between the DG S300 and DG X100

Close. I've always heard the DG S300 is about a 5.7, and the X100 is about a 6.2 or 6.3 or so.

So they're about equally spaced, really: 5.5, S300, 6.0, X100. You can hard or soft step some to close the gaps, too.

Okay, thanks for clearing that up. But could you order a set of, say AP2's, with 5.7 shafts in them?

Ask if they can softstep a 6.0 or hardstep 5.5 once or twice, same thing as getting a number between the lineup as has been said. But if you ask for 5.7 straight out, that you can not get as a direct product. However, hopefully if the person you talk to knows what he is doing, he will know how step them to get what you ask, like a fitter will ;)

You really should get fitted, ask around, it is not overrated. If anything, it is underrated. Could be that you need the shafts to be longer/shorter, could be that you need to alter the lie, could be that you want to slightly alter the loft on one or more of the clubs for higher/lower trajectory or more/less distance on that club.

Most stores offer a fitting where the cost of it is deducted from the ordering price, as such in a form it is free if you order from them. Does not cost anything extra to have a special order & as we just cleared up does not cost extra to get fitted if you go to the right place, so why not?

I have x100 in my AP2, they are basically as iacas says right in the middle of 6.0 & 6.5.
On a sidenote, if you have longer than regular shafts, they player softer. If you have shorter, they play harder.

Just curious... what is your motivation to change shafts... what are you trying to accomplish?

This should help:
6.0 are stiffer.
How far do you fly a six iron?

5.5 are lighter.
