I just got a brand new newport detour

Well I am what you call a victim of the scotty cameron marketing technique, I was putting perfectly fine whith my oidyssey 2 ball but i decided that i just had to have a cameron. I just ordered a newpord detour of ebay and was wondering if i made the right choice, because i was also thnking of getting a red x.

Funny....I'm also playin a 2-ball and have been lusting for a Red X3....bid on two last night...waiting now to see.

I've also got bids out on a Phantom Futura.

I've played around with the Detours at my local shop.


They all set up well for me.

It pains me to see so many people switch away from odyssey just from scotty cameron hype. 2 of the people on my golf team have scottys and i've hit countless in the store, i don't get the hype.

One thing i have noticed is that anybody going from odyssey to cameron is also going from mallet to blade. I haven't seen many people play any odyssey, or Bettinardi blades. I'd buy the bettinardi blade before i bought an SC. Well to each his own i guess. I love my kitty and the only thing i'll trade it for is an oddyssey/bettinardi blade.

I'm to a 2-ball.. user..

I've been thinking of getting a new putter, but I still want to use a mallet. The SC Red X 3 or 5 has caught my eye though. But for the money I've been looking at the Bettinardi BC3 or even YES mallet putters.

What is up with the detour bieng so cheap i have never seen a new scotty be less than 269.99 in stores, but trust im not complaining.

No worries. I think we all wish Newports (or any other SC putters) sold for $150.
