In all honesty I don't watch much, well of Chelsea, because here in America we don't get to pick between almost every game that's going on, we have one channel that plays EPL games and that's it.

Here's what I play:

Titleist 907 D2 10.5* UST ProForce V2 76-S | Titleist 906F4 18.5* Aldila VS Proto "By You" 80-S | Titleist 585H 21* Aldila VS Proto "By You" 80-S | Titleist ZB 4-PW TTDG S300 | Bob Vokey Spin Milled Oil Can 54.10 | Bob Vokey Spin Milled Oil Can 60.08 | Scotty Cameron Red X5 33" |

It's okay, I wish I saw the whole season but America hates soccer!!!

Oh it was funny, the other day I was watching Fox Soccer Channel with my friend and there was a commercial and my friend wasn't really watch the commercial, he just saw cheerleaders and asked me "who was playing in that game?" And I said back to him "You know you are watching American Soccer when there are cheerleaders on the field" We both start cracking up, it was hilarious!!!

  • 2 weeks later...
I watched US vs. Spain yesterday, and we are farther away than I thought. The Americans still have a lot of work to do to get to that level. I really thought we were close going into this three-game set against England, Spain, and Argentina, but I was wrong. We looked like a high school or college team compared to Spain. I'm sure things will be better when we get Landon Donovan back, but there is a lot of work to do in order for us to compete at the highest level.

I'm scared to think what Argentina will do to us this Sunday. :/

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

I have always thought the problem with soccer in the U.S. is the fact you don't have time-outs, and it’s not divided into quarters. That makes it less attractive for sponsors to "sponsor" (sorry for the redundancy) since there are less advertisement opportunities. That has kept the sport to get deep into the country, although with time things seem to be changing, most of all, thanks to the woman’s soccer team and imigration (what an irony, isn’t it?).

Some might say “Well, but it’s huge in England, Spain, Italy, Argentina, Brazil, etc, and they have the same problem.” The answer is affirmative, but the thing is we (by the way I am South American) grow up with a spirit for soccer, living soccer, eating soccer, sleeping soccer, just as some people in the states do so with Baseball. That is something which is probably not going to change, since soccer has no roots in the U.S. culture (now, don’t start saying they come from English and English have passion for soccer, please), and so its more difficult for it to penetrate their own people.

Cheers…
