Hosel... I just recently purchased a TEI3 Newport II on the bay and sent it away to be refinished.

There have been a few threads on this topic over the last month or so and I'll pass on the same advice I gave to others. Save your money and do NOT send your putter to the Cameron Studio.

check out www.puttertalk.com and sign up as a member, it's free and follows the same lines as the Sand Trap except its ALL about putters.

There are a few members on the board who do custom work, and make their own BEAUTIFUL putters. Two specific members are GEO (George Palombi, has his own thread section) and Lamont.

Geo recently refurbished and applied a copper plate to my gamer, then torched it to give it a snakelike/ rainbow effect... its pretty unreal and pictures hardly do it any justice. The benefits of these guys are the love they put into every project, they dont have touring pro's and work out of small, yet efficient shops. Lamont has a tight connection with some seriously skilled welders who are able to hack off your neck and make custom welded necks if you know exactly what you want and are aware of your putting style/stroke. They also will be able to do a number of finishes... just to many to list but you can imagine the basics (oil can, dark oil can, chocolate oil can, rainbow, gunblue, black ox etc etc etc) and they can provide you with images comparing the finishes.

They can also add a number of beautiful custom aspects to your putter, everything being handstamped!

Not to sound like a commercial but I fostered some great friendships with these guys and they do great work, check it out and let me know if you have any questions.

That's why I asked I have an eye on a few old Scotty's on Ebay and want to get this done. Should I just contact them thru the website you provided???? What about cost? Sounds like it's well worth it and still affordable.

I have a flamed copper plate added and my name handstamped on the putter bumpers for 100 bucks, I had to ship on my own so that ran me 12 bucks or so...

Paintfills are easy enough for me to do so I dont see someone offering one as an added bonus or a selling point.

If you find something on the bay and its a deal, pull the trigger... once it's refinished its a brand new stick. Just let me know what you're thinking and I can introduce you to some people I know.

What kind of paint and equipment do you use? Some kind of enamel or modelling paint with a very fine brush?

you could use a paint bottle with a needle on the end, they are pretty cheap at golfsmith *under 5 bills*

I actually use a pretty simple process... you'll need acetone, enamel model paint, a brush, and a heat gun

I just heat the putter, swap with acetone and pick out the old paintfill with a small nail clipper (the small attachment that pulls out). Heat the putter again, apply paint, apply heat for a small amount of time and gentyly wipe away at the painfill with a cotton ball of acetone

I have a pretty simple heat gun I picked up from Lowe's for 30 bucks or so, you could use a hairdryer but that just takes longer
