New Mizuno MP-52 and MP-62 Irons Preview

Hey everyone today I was at my local golf shop today when the Mizuno van showed up. The guy who runs the shop told me the new line of clubs was coming in soon, and that this guy from Mizuno was showing them to him. So before I left I walked over to the van and he let me look and them and hold them. Here's what I saw

The MP-52

These irons are still part of the MP line so they have the players look and feel, but are more forgiving than the MP-57s. They have a kind of CNC Milled cavity which is solid in the high irons and carved out in the low irons for more forgiveness. They are similar to the MX-25s except smaller with a thinner top line and less offset. These irons are between the MX-25s and MP-57s.

The MP-62

These irons are also part of the MP line, but are a step up from the MP-60s. That means they are more of a blade than the MP-60s offering less offset and a thinner topline. They feel nice and really set up wonderfully, although these clubs are definitely for the better player. These are very nice irons for those players who want to set up from the MP-60s, but not to a full blade yet. These irons are between the MP-60s and MP-67s.

I still like the MP-57's more than any other line that Mizuno has.

Yeah me too, but these irons offer different styles for a different array of swing types.

My MP-62s came in today. Hit them on the range for about an hour or so. I love them so far. I'll probably play 18 with them tomorrow depending on how busy the course is when I get off.

Hopefully they'll knock the price of the MP-57s down. I'm in the market

The 62's are really nice and they look nice at address. If your into blades these are pretty much it with a little forgiveness.

I think MP-52 is comparable (and the answer) to Titleist's AP2. Love the MP-52, by the way. Simple and clean just like all MP lines.

They look fabulous. You’ve seen these 1st hand. Do you think a combo set (5-7 52’s & 8-PW 62’s) would blend well or does it look like the offset is too much, or do one of these new sets already represent a combo set?

I'm an assistant pro, I ordered them 2-3 weeks ago when I first heard they were coming out. Didn't think I'd have them for another week or so, was a nice gift from the FedEx man yesterday.

I played 11 holes with them today, by far one of the nicest/best sets of clubs I've hit. Now I just need to find a putter I like as much as these irons and I'll be set haha.

Yes, they are really nice and it was cool seeing them first hand from Mizuno. I think that it would be better to blend the 52s and the 57s. He told me they have the same top so that when you blend them you see no differences at address. The 57s should be good 8-PW and the 52s 4-7 for more forgiveness in the low irons.

I never thought of that, but that's a great idea. Can't wait to see them.

      Long time creeper, but had to join today to ask a question. Today was playing in our clubs Sunday money group. We played all 18 holes and was settling up after the last hole. The groups about 9 guys. Most I play with every week. A few I play with once a month or every other month.  I shot well and was owe a small 3 digit amount from a few players. That's when the guy I don't play with often walks up and says he isn't paying because I had too many clubs in my bag. We walked to my bag and I counted my clubs and I didn't have too many. He then states look at the back your bag there is another club. Low and behold my 7 years daughters putter is in the umbrella hole as its been for the last year when she stated coming with me and wants to putt on the greens. All the other guys looked at him but he refuses to pay me out but pays everyone else. Whats your thoughts. All the other guys paid me out.

      Brian Campbell winning twice this year with a low/mid 160s ball speed is amazing in this time and day. Contrast that with last week's winner Potgieger who moves it comfortably at 190+. Crazy.

      Day 66 (6 Jul 25) - took a break yesterday as I’m dealing with a very sore small toe on my right foot (and we were at the beach place with no golf gear). Today resumed, post TS Chantal’s passing by, with some easy 7i’s into the net followed by some longer shots with hard foam balls.  Ended with some 9i swings - all around focused on weight forward.
