There is a sports store near me that has a used Scotty Cameron. It is in very good shape. I am not at all familiar with SC putters, but it is $160 for a used putter, and that seems awful steep for me. I just wanted to know what kind of deal that is. I mean, I have no interest in buying the putter as it just doesn't feel that nice to me, but I know Cameron putters are all the rage and I know they are quite pricey.

I took a picture of it with my phone that didn't turn out well, but I found a pic on google that looks just like it. It is a Newport Studio Stainless, looks similar to the bottom putter in the pic below.

Would you pay $160 for it?

I own the middle one and purchased it for about 180 shipped. It looks like the one that you see looks to be in a little better condition as well. Nonetheless, great putter. I'd recommend it for $160. I believe retail for it was like $280...so a $120 discount seems fair.

For 180? you better give me the name and # of the place and I'll take it off there hands for them! LOL

Good deal, hell you'll see on many forums that they still sell for 200+. Great milled putter, great craftsmanship and just a great putter. I'd love to have one.

It has been there for about a week. Most of the people who shop at this store are looking for cheap stuff and are probably scared off by the (relatively) high price tag for a piece of used equipment, albeit great used equipment.

I will gladly take you there if you buy me the Yes! Callie they have there for only $60!

If I hadn't bought a Laguna Pro Platinum just a few days ago ($150 on ebay) then hell, yeah!

That's a $300 putter for half off if it is in very good shape.

Here's a Newport 2 sold on Ebay below that's not in very good condition, see all the dents on the putter head.

I have the same putter, Newport 2 stainless steel, I paid about $150 + shipping cost with the head cover and divot tool in pretty good shape about 2 years ago.

Make sure you know what length you want because each length has its own weight on the putter head.

If its in good condition I would say $160 is a fair price, my questions is does come with the head cover and divot tool? and is it the right length for you?

No headcover or divot tool. Just the putter. I don't know the size.

Like I said, I have no intention of buying it. Even if I had the money, I didn't like the feel of it at all. I was just wondering if it was a fair price or, as some people seem to think, a very good price.

When I got my Scotty over the weekend those putters were fetching well over $200 on ebay, nearer the $220 region. Some without headcover and divot tool.

Honestly, the value of the putter varies for me... 220 for say a studio style is overpriced just because of its relatively recent release (3 years ago I believe) but some putters such as the TEI3 and older Newports are worth over 200 to me because of their availability. Couple that with the fact that you can have sticks restored and customized its worth it for sure.

As for headcovers, I'm not massively impressed with some of the scotty's. I enjoy a lot of his specialty covers but the stock versions are not always that impressive... as for the tool don't use that thing, it's actually not good for a green and have been discussed on the sandtrap why its design is severly flawed (ie the thickness of its prongs and the design implies you should push up rather than into the mark)
