I'm thinking about moving to the Grafalloy Red Regular for my FT-i. I've heard it's stiffer than a normal regular but not quite as stiff as an "average" stiff shaft, has good torque resistance and will promote lower flight. All things I like.

Bueller?

Thanks!

If you're referring to the Prolaunch Red, I've had it in my Ping G10 fairway woods since November and I have a Cleveland 460 I put one in.

IMO, the shaft plays a bit stiffer than advertised and it keeps the ball down some.

I'm happy with it.

Thanks BD..

The more I read about it, the more I think it might be a little too light and stiff for me. I need something a little heavier that's better for 85-95 but keeps the ball low.

As an example, I really liked the Pro Launch blue, but it ballooned on me more often than not. I need that shaft but with a higher kick, low/mid trajectory option.

The Prolaunch blue is their low kickpoint high trajectory shaft. The Prolaunch red is the exact opposite, you should try it.

Thanks for the good replies everyone!

Both shafts look very good and got great reviews!

I went by the shop today and apparently the FT-i needs some special heating element to get the shaft out? WTF? So now I have to wait and see if I can send it in to Callaway for a re-shaft..

Give me some time to see if I can hit this new 3 wood I guess...

Thanks again!

i got one in my driver. its a prolaunch red stiff and its comparable to the aldilla VS Proto by you.... but cheaper!

i love it.

I'd advise against the Proforce shaft for what you need. The lower flying model is a bit clunky, I found.

I use the Graf ProLaunch Red in a G10 and it's the bees-knees.

I don't find the S flex any stiffer than other S flex shafts but maybe the R flex is firmer than it's counterparts...

I had this shaft installed because my old shaft ballooned on me also. It lowered my ball flight at least 25-30% and I became alot more accurite with it. Hope this helps.

I have had the pro-launch red shaft in my last two drivers, a 983k and now it is in my 907 D2. I am pretty tall and have a steep swing path, so my ball flight is still pretty high. But I do love the feel of this shaft.

    • For me it would be opt 1 , even though it’s a watching it slip away scene.  I believe it was Brando who lamented at the end of Streetcar Named Desire that he could’ve been a contender….would I be like @ChetlovesMer’s friend?  I hope not, but to know that for a moment I was giving the  win a run for the money would be a great memory…

    • On my calendar thx @Hardspoon for putting this together
    • After a bit of a lean spell managed to birdie stroke hole one, long par five. Ball striking best it’s been for a while short game exactly the opposite. Had so many opportunities to post good scores last three or four games, failed miserably😀
    • Would You Rather #69 For this question let's assume you are playing whatever tournament is important to you.  Would you rather finish second in your tournament but be remembered for a huge mistake you make right at the end.  or  Would you rather play solidly in your tournament, but you still finish outside the top 25, and are never really in contention.  Incidentally, this happed to a friend of mine many years ago at the tournament I play every year. He was leading the tournament coming into the last hole, where he took two to get out of a greenside bunker and then three-putted his way to second place. He hasn't really been in contention again since.
