Hank Haney impresses me more and more each week of this show. Particularly the last show when he called the Boston College golf coach and recommended the kid (forget his name at the moment) while they were standing out on the range. You could almost hear the B.C. coach fall out of his chair when Haney told him who he was. He then practically offered the kid a scholarship without ever seeing him take a swing. Impressive.

Rudy-

I couldn't agree with you more. Before this show, I always thought of Haney as a "no personality" kind of guy. At first glance, not as charismatic as Butch Harmon or (in some people's opinion, but not mine) David Ledbetter. But now, I'm starting to believe that Haney is just someone who doesn't flap his gums unless he really has something to say. (Sort of a twist on the old saying "Speak softly and carry a big stick.") I'm starting to understand why Tiger went to Haney. He strikes me as someone who is only going to mess around with something that needs to be messed around with. That is, he works with you instead of on you. He also seems to genuinely care about and respect the kids who are putting in the effort to be good. Maybe it's just TV editing, maybe not. Either way, I will be paying attention to Haney in the future. And I'll say it again in case someone from The Golf Channel is paying attention: This show needs to be an hour long so the storylines can be a little more cohesive. Right now, we learn about a player, and then don't hear about them again for 3 weeks. ( Geez, TGC should just hire me to direct their progamming! Harry knows what the people want! )

I'm really impressed with the amount of detail Haney and his coaches, exude. The episode where Haney got upset with the grips is classic. Just because she wanted the grips in a certain color did not mean they were meant for her. Having one of his instructors go and measure her, again, and re-grip her clubs and then saying "You need all the right" equipment was impressive. Also, when one of the coaches was explaining the course layout and how they should avoid going for the pin on a certain hole because it carried that the ball would roll off and into a bunker. Just smart golf.

Wasn't real impressed with the last show. I'm not really interested in ghost stories or swimming pools, etc.

Hope the next show re-focuses on the students and the golf.

Also, still think the editing is weak. Everything seems like a hodgepodge is vignettes instead of an evolving story. Don't feel like I've gotten to know any of the students, or their games. What happened to Amy Wang and Marta Silva?

Ditto, and hodgepodge is a good way to put it. It's almost like a 22-minute commercial (which it partly is, of course).

Yep, pay upwards of 50K a year for 4 years so Hank might pick up the phone (on live tv) and get your son or daughter a full ride to a college that costs 40 or 50k or so to attend (sorry, but I am not up to speed on tuition costs to BC and the almighty SMU, and too lazy to look it up).

Hats off to Hank, your school next year will be filled with multi - multi - millionaires, so you can raise the tuition till supply outweighs the demand. Excellent Infomercial, brilliant!
