Hey I was wondering if anyone has heard anything about the new Ping Rapture V2s? They look really cool and seem to set up nicely. I also like the fact they come with a Diamana Blue.

Any thoughts?

My thoughts are that if you want a Rapture, now is the time to buy. Used that is. I just couldnt bring myself to buy the v1 for $450, but I would buy one now for under $200. I am also interested to see the reviews of the v2. It should be a great driver, as the v1 was great.

Yeah your right, but I'm real excited about the new one it looks amazing, but I'm not too psyched about the price tag . $450 is kinda ok WAY out of my price range. I think I might give the old rapture a try.

That's awesome, sounds like a great club. Do you think it's worth the money?

I personally do, but I mean you gotta justify the price for your self. But that driver is so beastly, I mean it carries for ever and ever, then rolls. It sets up very nice.

Man, with words like those I just wanna order it right now haha. That sounds so sick though I love a driver that sets up well. Not too closed not too open. And the carry and roll thing rocks too.

Yeah, both shafts are "made for" shafts, so they are not aftermarket shaft, but the Diamana performs just the same.

I have a Rapture and cracked the shaft at the tip; I took it back to the pro I bought it from and he is sending it back to Ping to be repaired. He gave me a Rapture V2 to use while my club is away getting fixed. I got it this morning and played 9 with it this afternoon. On the range I was hitting it an extra 20 yards than with my Rapture, and on the course was a good 10-20 yards longer. The ball jumps off it with a good ball flight and seems to carry really well.

I think I will upgrade to this driver in the spring when the Ping van comes around with a launch monitor. The driver I am using is a 10.5 ˚ and has a stiff Diamana shaft that is 65g with a torque of 3.8 (which seems a bit high for me). I would like to hit it with the different shafts and see how it plays out. I really liked the driver though; might not want to give it back when my returns

Ive won a ping rapture v2 driver in a tournament, has the regular blue aldila proto, 9 degree. $450dlls tag. Its great!! goes straight and long, normally I hit my drives 240-250, but with this driver Im reaching 260-270 yards. and hitting more fairways also,I was a little sceptical to switch, since the drivers I used before where the non-conforming taylor mader CTi. 10.5 degree, and the non conforming king cobra 440 unlimited. 9 degree. both reg shaft.

If you are planing in buying a new driver try this one at the proshop first, the new technology works for me, probably will work for you too.

the Ping Rapture V2 is a long driver and very forgiving i personally would like to be able to work the ball more with my driver but i you just want straight and long (and who doesn't) then it will be one of the best out there for you. Also try out the callaway hyper x it is very forgiving and has great distance and is a lot less money even after upgrading the shaft. Happy shopping!

    • Played several holes today with my Buddy's left haded clubs.  I was going to order just woods, but after playing again today and hitting the irons well, I will be ordering a complet set of Left handed Clubs.    They are Callaway Edge, Regular flex.  I am excited !  Will let you know after I try them and let you know how well they performed.    Retired Old Man, Terry
    • Depends in part on what lie the greens crew left me. If it's first cut of rough or fairway and clear shot to cup, it's an 8i chip and run. If it's shaggy, or I have to go over ridge or bunker, it's a cut shot with a 58* LW.
    • Throw a stick down in almost every range session.
    • Day 358: Played 18. Incredible psycho scorecard but finished +5. Also completed the birdie challenge. And the no 6s challenge, for that matter. Was not my best ball striking or driving round, but was able to hit enough good shots to make a few birdies and scrape it around.
    • Birdied 10 and 17 today to complete the (away) challenge! Both of the birdies were tap in birdies on par 5s (hit the green in 2 and was in the fringe pin high in 2), but I was a little nervous over both putts. I wasn't taking a gimme to finish the challenge, dammit.  Also, 17 was a hole I missed last year, so it was one I was a little worried about. Now I guess I need to make an eagle or two or get to -19 or lower.
