I'd love to test new irons for you. I'm retired and use my trusty Taylor made LCG irons, stiff shaft. and I really like the look of the RAC,s

My review

Why did you decide to switch from the Taylormade TP/MB??? Definitely looking for a place to demo them.

Temporary switch. Will be back to the TMs in a week or two. Putting the 695s in play because I have to review them...

Early review, compared to the TM RAC MB TPs: not as forgiving, slightly sweeter if you manage to hit the miniscule sweet spot, feel lighter weight, hit the ball a tad lower.

my golf coach had these irons, so i tried them out, i think they're good clubs but not great.

The feeling is good but not great.

This distance is the best part, I hit these farther than my 690's.

The workability is harder than my 690's.

The trajectory is perfect for me, not to high but not to low.

The looks, decent.

I don't like the weight.

The shape of the clubhead dosen't fit my eye.

The thin topline is sexy.

The feel pockets are bs.

I give these 3.5 / 5 stars.

The only irons ive been able to give 5/5 stars are the mizuno mp 14's and the mp 37's.

I think sergio has been going back and forth with these and the tp cb. Personally, Ive seen him use the tp cb more so I think there is no reason someone should get the mb.

The cavities have worst feeling and distance, but everything else is better. Personally the cb's are like a 4.1/5. Mizuno makes the best blades. Nike ones are nice 2, I give them a 4.8 / 5. These are highquality clubs but I know better. Thanks for letting me share my ops.

That's a pretty asinine comment. "Sergio does it, so you should too?" Sergio uses the MBs a lot more often than the CBs. Retief uses the MBs. And so do others. A lot use the LTs, too.

Mizuno makes the best blades.

Yes, now some of the statements you made above make more sense.

Nike ones are nice 2, I give them a 4.8 / 5. These are highquality clubs but I know better.

That doesn't make any sense.

interesting comments. I'd not put the nike blades (or the titleist 695 as a metter of fact) in the same category though. TM MB's are MB style design, but they're not the typical blade, what for me stands for "australian blade" design style (ok, for most of us who don't care for names: a bent piece of sheet-metal

). The other problem I have with your post (of course you're fully entitled to it, it's a free country after all ) it's that's YOUR opinion. All of the above are subjective things, even distance and trajectory - there is no "wonder-iron" for all players out there and I'm sure TM doesn't try to sell the MB's as such. Can't help to notice your bias towards Mizuno's, (kind of surprised why are you playing Titleist ) and it's fine, everybody has a favorite brand - I admited publicly several times, that I'm taylor made koolaid sucker . Anyway - I'm using TM irons for the last 5 years, with a brief pause when I put the first Nike combo set in my bag (for about a month),went through all of their TP (and LT) series, and so far I think the MB's are so far the best for my game. Again - for MY GAME . There is a bit of science in finding the perfect fit in your irons - mostly the shaft and level of "forgiveness" appropriate to your swing speed and ability to square the clubface, but once you've done with this - it's all about feel. Even though Erik is trying to be objective in his reviews - he'll never be, unless all he does is mounting the club in the iron-baron with a blindfold on

I unfortunately don't have the opportunity to demo these clubs since nobody near carries them. I did however test out the TM forged TP irons. Very nice 'feel' and feedback. Besides, Erik's comment about TP being MORE forgiving, anything else? Are they about the same then?

The TM website states you can order shafts with TT DG. Are the standard RP Flighted preferred? Wonder why since most TM have TT DG.

Thanks for your comments!

I've the rifles just because I'm a snob

I also had rifles on my rac TP. There is for sure some website that explains exactly the difference between them, but for me - it just feels good. If you think rac TP's have good feedback - wait till you hit the MB's. Trust me - you don't want to hit them thin in a 40 deg weather, your fingers will be ringing lauder than church bells on sunday To summerize it: feel, feedback, workability and sexy, sexy looks = MB feel, good feedback, forgiveness, good looks = rac TP

    • the rules have changed, but this would fall under 11.2 in the current rules.  General Penalty to any player who deliberately deflects a ball in motion, and you must replay the putt.
    • Day 250 4-29 Getting chest through with speed on downswing and wrist arch. Also worked on some moving the pelvis slightly away in the backswing. Feel like im going too fast and long, looks like it on the recordings too.
    • Interesting that it's no penalty, but then again, I can't imagine someone would purposefully put their foot out there in this situation or one like it.  And then there was the time someone purposefully deflected his own ball during a major, but that's very different too. The only time I can recall a ball I hit hitting another player or their equipment was ages ago -- over a decade and a half ago.  I had a 3' putt for an 89 and someone (a random pairing, not someone I knew) decided it was a good time for goaltending practice.  That wouldn't fall under this rule, though (and it wasn't in a tournament anyway). Thanks for continuing to share these, Dave!  I always find these interesting.
    • Day 51 (29 Apr 26) - Worked with a few of the golf team kids plus my grandson (he’s too young for the team as it’s middle-high school age and he’ll be 10 Sat).  He put on a small hitting clinic (hitting off the same tees as the rest of the boys) - one of the older kids called him a “coach”.  Worked in a few shots for myself - had the light bag: driver, 7w, 4 - 6 - 8 - Pw - Sw (DCI 962’s except the Sw a 981) and Zebra putter….got in some great tee shots, a couple of recovery and an awesome up and down for bogie: 55 yds out, hitting 4th shot due to 2nd getting tangled in limbs - see the window I need to hit for a tight spinner with the Sw - nail it to a postage letter distance from the cup for a tap in bogie….my kind of practice.
    • Day 21, April 29.  Before going to work this morning, I worked in my indoor practice room for 20 minutes.   This was entirely 6-iron shots with the usual step.  Video yesterday showed me that I'm still straightening my trail leg too much (leading to the backswing length issue I've been working to fix), so I focused on not doing that in my rehearsal swings.
