After playing 8 different teams this year in golf, I noticed that no one used Cleveland irons. I'm the only one on my team who does, and am wondering if anyone else here does. I use the Cleveland CG4 Tour irons. I got them for an awesome deal on eBay ($190 shipped) and they've hit just about as smooth as any other iron set I've tried.

I play CG2s in 7-pw. These are honestly the softest cast club I've ever hit. And extremely accurate as well. I like the heft of the club and the players look at address. I got them in 3-pw, a cherry demo set, for $200 last December. If I were looking to buy any other Cleveland irons the CG4 Tour would be my first choice. They have a slightly thicker topline and larger cavity as the CG2 and look to be a bit more forgiving. I could probably hit those up to a 6 or 5 iron consistantly.

I play the regular CG4's and I love them. I'm not that good overall, but I hit my irons very well, and a pure shot feels great, nice and smooth. I had them fitted about a month and a half ago, and have finally adjusted to the new lie. I also put new decade grips on them, although the stock grips were nice. I'll be playing them for years to come as long as the soft metal holds up.

The CG4 Tour are great for me. Although I'm not exactly tournament caliber, I golf just about every day of the week, and I like to have clubs that are comfortable to hit. As for long irons, I normally don't need them, because I'm usually either about 210 or 160 out. Whenever I'm in that area between 190-170, I'll use a long iron simply because I'm not too good at "letting up" on a shot. Even those longer irons are fairly easy to hit, and I never know when I need them, so they stay in the bag.

    • Day 23: weird day, and only had a little bit of time. Just did mirror work again, working on where the elbow is in the downswing
    • I flipped over to this tonight and thoroughly enjoyed it. Anyone else watch? I picked it up during the golf relay event, but seeing these pros out having fun in alternative events was refreshing and entertaining. I’m sure it will be on in reruns in the next week or so, so I won’t spoil the outcome. Im curious what others thought of it. I’m recording it’s later airing to see the beginning.
    • Day 443 - 2025-12-17 Made a few swings in testing some things out at another academy. Might pop up on someone else's podcast in a few weeks.
    • Day 37 (17 Dec 25) - nine hole round with my good friend.  We got paired up with a couple of the men’s group regulars as part of their shootout.  Started off with a wonderful quad bogie and then a dbl on three to be six over thru three holes.  Game went 180° over the next five as I shot one under (including a chip in birdie on hole six and four up and down 1 putt pars) for a net finish of five over. What could have been a really tough nine became a solid finish due to staying in the moment and not checking out.  Great day in course management and keeping perspective .
    • Day 127 12-17 Backswing and flow practice. Took advantage of the 60 degeee weather(it was 20 degrees Sunday)
