Cleveland CG Red Irons

Hello everyone
I was wondering if anybody is playing the Cleveland CG Red Irons? I am currently playing 20 year old Ping Eye II's and my handicap is 14. One will they fit my handicap and allow me to grow? Two my swing speed with a 6 iron is 85, I am told I should be reg flex. What happens if I go with a stiff.

I would say yes. They are built to be a good compromise between forgiving and workable.

They have very minimal offset which is a good thing for improving your game. They also have enough of a cavity and meat on the edges of the face to not punish you too horribly on mishits. I'm currently debating between those and the Taylormade R7 TP's which would be a bit more challenging to hit. Overall though the CG Red's are fantastic clubs and I've liked them everytime I have demo'd them.

If you go with stiff you lower the ball flight which might not be a bad thing.

You will also probably try to swing harder, hit more bad shots, and potentially ruin your swing in the long run. Its a lot better and easier to slow your swing down for a weaker shaft than to speed your swing up to a stiffer shaft.

I think they are pretty good clubs. I demo'ed both the reds and the golds earlier this year. Couldnt stand the golds purely because of the clubhead size and lack of feedback. I liked the reds but I liked the x-forged and the Mp57's better.

Perhaps what supoffset really needs is a sweet set of "Cleveland Black Pearl blades 4-PW +1 inch DG Stiff" - do you know anyone who may have a set to sell?

I love the CG reds, currently play them in stiff as a ~11 handicap, driver swing speed at 105-110 mph. Got them custom fitted, and they play nicely.

I just came home with a set last night actually! GOing to play a round or two afterwhile, I'll report back then.
MY driver speed is around 95 and I play stiffs, but can easily play regular as well. I have a high ball flight so the stiffer shafts help that a wee bit I think.
