Driver, woods, hybrid for beginner

Hi, My son is just starting out in Golf. He has a pretty nice set of irons (older but still good with good grips) but his current set of woods/metals are pretty bad. Was wondering what make/model of driver 3/5 wood and/or hybrid(s) would be best for him to evaluate.

He is 15 yo, about 5'6" and can hit a Ping G5 with Reg flex shaft he borrows about 150 yards (but he is really just starting out).

I like the Taylor Made Rac OS 2 for a beginner. You can get the set now for like $300!!!

Throw in a couple of Hybrids and you are set.

I would check out the golf store and get some recommendation for clubs and price then go to a local club repair shop and see what clubs can be custom made for him and compare the price.

Is he involved with the first tee program in your area?

My 16 year old has a Taylor burner driver & 3 wood , Draw R7 5 wood which are all on sale right now. He got the driver last year and it immediately added 50 yards. The 3 & 5 woods really helped him adapt to the game

I don't have any issue with very-used or el-cheapo box set clubs until he has a repeatable swing or shows a strong interest (playing weekly or more). If you want to spend a little more, I have always liked Adams for a complete/quality starter set.

the ping G5s are really nice Irons IMO. Although I have tried very few clubs and a beginner myself. I hit my like 5 dollar wilson 6 iron like 115. I hit the ping g5 6 iron like 160 on average. im 15 and have been playing for like 3 months
