So i was demoing the x forged irons at golf galaxy with the 5.5 flighted and was constantly hitting them good like 143ish carry, slight suck back then sit at like 140. I was wondering if then I should get the 6.0, because if i hit the PW 140, then 9 150 8 160 7 170 6 180 would put me right into the 6.0s specs, but i hit the 5.5 so well and straight idk what to do. Help, also please chime in on my forged iron wear thread!
Thanks!

I always opt for a tick less stiff than is necessary due to the fact that a smoother more balanced swing with natural torque in the shaft is better than a quicker, jerkier, and swifter swing that attempts to force more torque in the shaft.

I've hit the x-20's in 5.5 flighted and that went about 155. I think you should be getting a 6.0 with your distances.

I had a similar experience...Few Months ago I went to Roger Dunn for a Mizuno MP 57 fitting. During the mizuno fitting, my average swing speed was 86 and I normally hit the 6 iron 185 yards. (During this time, I was playing mp-33 with DG-R300 Sensicore.) Based on the data Roger Dunn recommended 5.5 Project X. Then I went to the Project X website and saw the below chart(attached) and I thought: "Hey, Roger Dunn was wrong." Without thinking twice I ordered the clubs with the 6.0's. The ball flight was lower, which I liked, but I lost 15 yards! I immediately felt I made the wrong choice. I thought about returning it and getting the 5.5 but decided to keep it. I did hit it more consistent. I guess all is good except I can't explain the loss of yardage. Sorry st0wgolf08, I was trying to help but I think I ended up asking for help...

Yeah idk I might just go to the 6.0 for the more control, but it appears to fit me. I dont really care about iron distance, as I'm not someone who has to impress people with what club they are hitting.

    • Ok, I'm trying to find a feel to hit a consistent ball flight (irons).  My current predicament.  1. I try to do the arms down stuff better, with the club feeling like it is way behind me more. It's just a cluster of results. Most of the time, I can't get any speed on the swing. If I get my arms down faster, I just throw them out.  2. I focus all my attention on turning better. Pushing off with my left leg and getting my right side through better. On the DTL view, this doesn't produce anywhere close where the hands and club should be. The result is usually ball first contact, lower ball flight, more centered contact.  At this point, I am going with option 2. Stop thinking about what the hands do. Just make a shorter backswing, keep it wide, turn through. Somehow, the club head finds the ball. My focus is so much on just making sure I turn, it's like, "Oh, that contact was better.... Oh, that bell flight looks playable." If not, I will just be practicing my entire summer.
    • Nope, they spent too much money. They are in over 28 million on the football roster and related NIL compensation at this point. Boosters associated with any Texas college football team has HUGE sway. The AD is between a rock and a hard place. They put a lot of money into Sorsby, at the chance of winning a NC this year. If you move on, you basically wasted a lot.  This is why Ohio State wants 3 QB's they feel can start. That is why the backups the past 5 years at some point transfer. Texas Tech has no backup near the quality of Sorsby. If they move on, they are screwed for 2026.
    • Maybe there's something I still don't understand about the situation. Wouldn't Texas Tech do itself a favor to move on from Sorsby at this point?
    • Day 281 6-10 Full swing, fast, getting low point ahead of "towel".  Working on flow during this seems to help.
