Spotted the new Nike VR Muscle backs at Golfsmith today.

All I could think of is "are you fooking kidding me". These things we amazingly beautiful, but so small it looked like a $.50 cent piece stuck on the end of a shaft.

Apparently these are the clubs Tiger uses. I don't know if I could make clean contact in 1 out of 10 shots with them. The next time someone starts talking about using blades to re-live the old days or play a "more pure" game I'm going to suggest these and see how it works out for them.

They are handsome irons especially the forged blades, but so were the previous blades.

They are pretty nice to look though I have not hit them yet. When I demoed the 909's yesterday I hit the new Victory Wedges, awesome weight feel and while obviously not a Vokey it is above average on spin. I may have to pick one up as I've wanted a 58* with high bounce for a few of the courses around here as an alternate to the 60*.

I haven't bonded with the Nike equipment . The blades look like nice clubs, but for me, I would be more likely to play the VR forged cavity backs. I am interested in seeing the upcoming magazine reviews (or reviews here) with them hopefully in there.

How square was the face of the VR wedge? I've always like the Nike wedges because of the more square setup. In the pics they look a bit more rounded than their typical equipment.
