Silver Ridge in Oregon Il.

Silver 7005...130
Blue 6496...124
White 6131...120
Yellow 5422...120
Red 4988...115

I played the whites this year but will probably move to the blues next year. 113 is supposed to be an average slope rating but that seems low to me. What do you play?

My home course is, unfortunately

Black: 6419....116
White: 5916....108

I have no idea what the gold or red are off the top of my head. I wish there was a more challenging course around that didn't have a $10,000+ initiation fee.

What I play:

Driver: XLS Hibore 9.5* Fit-On Red (S)
Woods: Tour XPC 16* Graffaloy ProLite (S)
Hybrid: Exotics 3HIrons: Reid Lockhart 3-SWWedge: rac 60*Putter: a crappy $20 Academy putter (but it works!)

Rivercut Golf Course in Springfield, MO (one of the top public courses in MO).

Par 72
Black - 7066 - 73.9 / 129
Blue - 6536 - 71.4 / 124
White - 6019 - 69.1 / 119
Red - 5483 - 71.3 / 118

I will judge my rounds much more by the quality of my best shots than the acceptability of my worse ones.

I play at Magnolia Creek, where there's 3 9s. My favourite combination is Ireland-Scotland:

Tips: 7200 136
Gold: 6800 125
White: 6400 118

I play gold 95% of the time except if its real wet and windy and there's no roll, then it can play real long.

    • Interesting changes. The idea of relegation and promotion have always been there in a different form (getting and losing your card etc and qualifying for bigger events) but it looks like they want to define it better for top tier events. The Tour has always had A and B level events (and even lower). It will be interesting what they choose as the Challenger Series events and whether some tournaments go to the Challenger Series that used to be prestigious. Not sure how the networks will take to this knowing they have “Challenger” Series events defined that way now. Also, I’m not happy that John Henry and Theo Epstein are involved. Look what Henry has done to the Red Sox.

    • I have been debating getting a launch monitor of some sort, if only so I can re-figure my shot zones (I haven't actually mapped them in years) and also to practice distance wedges at home.  I have to see if this works with either my current setup, or what my setup would be if I move it to the garage.
    • Day 48, June 23.  After work today, I took 25 minutes in my practice room;  6-iron, same everything as yesterday except the time and count.
    • Well, this is interesting.  I think we discovered a few months ago that I haven't been following professional golf in a while (my confusion about Scotty's footwork confirmed that), so at least as I aim to follow a bit more I'll get something new to learn with all of you.  My very quick read of Erik's summary makes me think this new Challenger series fits somewhere between Korn Ferry and the Championship (not Champions, but I know I'm going to make that mistake a few times if I'm not careful!).   My recollection is that there were already second-tier events among the PGA Tour;  the Bob Hope didn't have the same quality of field as the event at Riviera (whose current name I forget, although now that I say that, I realize the Palm Springs event hasn't been called the Bob Hope in a few years either).   With the absence of the FedEx (if I'm reading that correctly), does that mean no more FedEx Cup at all? Hopefully I'll have time later in 2026 to sit down and see what we're in for in 2027, where one of my goals already is to follow more professional golf.
