Has anybody hit the new Cleveland Launcher drivers? I'd be interested in anybody's take on the performance of this club. I'm kinda glad to see Cleveland bring back the venerable Launcher, and I'm very glad to see them produce a driver without a scooped crown. I had no idea these were out until I saw one at Dick's. I like the look and feel at address. That gets me interested in any club. I'm not wild about the 45.5" shaft though.

Any input? Thanks.

I played one for about a week and while it is not a bad driver my hopes were much higher for it and I was honestly let down. For the first time I'll disagree with you and say that I could not stand the look at address, it seems to have a much more elongated crown and does not fit the classic pear shape of the old Launcher. I'm not a guy who's into "classic looks" (I play an XLS) but this look was just not to my liking. The distance was about 10-15 yards shorter than my XL and XLS and it did not have any more workabillity. I'll give up distance but only if I gain control, I did not with this driver. So is it a bad driver, no, but it's not in my top 5 or 10 for that matter. The fairway woods were another story however and I much prefer these over the XL and XLS line of fairway woods, though I will probably go back to my 906F2's to be honest.

Where I play: Mission Viejo CC and
long Beach Skylinks

LOL!! Thats tooo funny. And yes it does look elongated. I keep looking for a driver that has a new design but cleverly diguised. This one is

kinda disguised?

The Launcher 09 driver with Fit on gold takes a little adjustment time to get used to, but once you do, you are gold. Love the club. Just completed the ultimate set of clubs for my 50th birthday. Cleveland launcher driver, 3 wood and 2,3,4 hybrids (why use a 5 wood boys when you know your hybrid is easier to control ?)....Mizuno MP 53 5-PW, Cleveland 588 gunmetal wdges 52 and 58 degrees..

    • Day 159 1-19 Flow drill while attempting to add arch in wrist on downswing. Not where it needs to be but felt good working on swing flow.
    • Day 1 (19 Jan 26) - after a week lay-off due to travels, felt great to get in some drills in the backyard today.  Started with lead arm only short pitches focused on squared face and light divot post ball.  Haven’t done this in a while and it showed, with some skulls and slices.  Settled into easy flighted balls - wrapped up with standard two handed swings.  Good restart to the daily drills.
    • That depends what you do within those two.  Are they your only options?   Check out Fit for Golf if you get a moment.  It's linked on the sidebar;  I did it for two years, stopped for a really bad reason, and I plan to get back to it soon.   Mike Carroll also has a great free podcast about a lot of topics in golf fitness.
    • Day 19, 1/19.  Finished work in time to spend 25 minutes hitting balls (hit 15) indoors, off a mat, into the net.  Usual focus.
    • Day 30 - 2026-01-19 Got 10 minutes in on the mat / net working on exagerrating movements I'm working on. And grip. Also worked with my friendly AI to summarize key negative tendencies I have so that I can build a personal checklist to follow. Will do more mirror work tonight.
