Hey guys i know that there have been a bunch of GPS threads on here but with new devices coming out all the time i wanted to see what people thought was the best one. Seems like most people think Sky Caddie is the best but the drawback being that it requires a $30 fee per year. I don't play any one course very often, i play a bunch of different courses every year - so i don't think that i'll need to map additional points like i would if i had a regular "home" course. Basically i just want something that will give me front, center and back of green distances and lay-up/carry distances for hazards. What do you think?

I bought the iGolf Neo http://www.igolf.com/ about 3 months ago and have been really happy with it. It does not have all the bells and whistle, but it is small so it fits nicely in my pocket and the price is much better than most out there, $149. There is a subscription of $35 but the nice thing is you get 100 course downloads and once you download them you own them forever. Right now I have downloaded about 25 courses, so just before the year is up I will download any course I may ever want to play and then cancel the renewal.

The unit gives you the center, front back and up to 4 other marks per hole, so you might have a right side bunker, water etc for any hole. It is really easy to use and the battery life is phenomenal. They say it can go 4 full rounds on one charge. I have done 9 holes and it still shows 95 or 100%.

I highly recommend checking this one out. Great bang for the buck.

I have the uPro and like it a lot. It may be more expensive than what you're looking for and have more features than you need. They also just released the latest software update. No yearly membership either.

Ditto that.

I posted a review here: http://thesandtrap.com/forum/showthr...highlight=upro Pretty soon I'll add a post to include the new software update (which is awesome, BTW) E

do you get a hole fly through with the Upro, if so do you get it with every course or just ones they have the image for.

Also what are they like time wise for processing a course that is not already done?

I've been looking at a new product called Shotmiser. http://www.shotmiser.com saw a review for it whilst in England.

They do do courses in florida and many other states the software looks pretty good too. Giving you stats at the end of your game, includes digital score card and you can set your handicap in Shotmiser.

I may put in a call to see when they'll be shipping to the US, says on their website UK shipping but to contact them for US shipping

Check out the review thread, I think you'll find the answers there.
