It seems as though with my irons I hit some weird gaps that I shouldn't. I can comfortably hit a PW 135 yards. I can occasionally pump it out into the low to mid 140's. My 9 iron follows suit, and my eight does as well. After that though I stop gaining the desired 10 yard gap between clubs. I think my PW is 45 degrees, and with my 60 if I hit it flush I'm only getting around 65 yards, isn't that a huge gap for 15 degrees?

If your lofts are consistently gapped (I'd have them checked) your distance issues are most likely resulting from inconsistent contact. Depending on the clubs your playing hitting on the heel or toe might still give you straight ball flight but knock off considerable yardage. If you're playing SGI irons they tend to straighten these shots out but lose yardage. If you were playing blades heel and toe shots result in nasty hooks and slices (even more so on the toe). Spend some time with impact tape and see what's up.

There is only 4 or 5 degrees of loft difference between your 8, 9 and PW. So you are talking three times the loft difference between PW and LW. That is a lot. 65 yards is pretty good for a lob wedge that is hit under control which is what you want to do. I know I tend to not take as full a swing with my wedges as with the other clubs. Do you have a gap wedge and sand wedge? How you hitting those?
