I travel down to Bradenton every December with the family from Canada. I get 2 to 3 rounds in over the course of 10 days. We have been doing this for 10 years.
I've played:
Waterlefe
Legacy
University Park
Stoneybrook
River Club
Imperial Lakewoods
and a few others

I also have a regular group of guys who go down to Myrtle Beach every year and we decided to head a bit further south to Tampa/Bradenton area this time.
I will take them to my favorite courses from the above list..but what I'm asking is:
Does anyone have any suggestions as to really nice courses within an hour drive (not Orlando...too far)
and in the $80.00 to $130.00 range

I played Lansbrook yesterday in Palm Harbor - was in great shape with the exception of the 120 blue hairs playing in a tournament in front of me. I can honestly say I was impressed with the course.

You've played some pretty good ones!

Try World Woods (2 good public courses) in Brooksville, or
Innisbrook Copperhead if you can work it out.

Good golfing!

Dave.

Those are all good courses and I'd keep them on the list. Another fun course in the area is The Links at Greenfield Plantation. Friendly track that's right outside of Bradenton.....Reasonably priced, usually in good shape, and has a set of tees for every skill level. I play it at least twice a year with my 72 year old dad and we both enjoy it.

looks like google maps pegs it at about 2 hours, but i made it from tampa in about an hour, with a lot of time slowing down for tolls. so if bradenton isn't an hour from tampa, you can probably do it in less than google's estimate.

one of the coolest things i've seen at world woods is a $5 practice course consisting of one each of a par 3, 4, and 5 so if you're a little cramped from the ride you can get in some warm up holes.

About 20 minutes south of World Woods is Seven Hills Country Club in Spring Hill. Its a nice course and a bargain. Pace of Play can be slow due to the number of Sr's.

    • I think part of it is there hasn't been enough conclusive studies specific to golf regarding block studies. Maybe the full swing, you can't study it because it is too complicated and to some degree it will fall into variable or random.
    • Going one step stiffer in the golf shaft, of the same make and model will have minor impact on the launch conditions. It can matter, it is a way to dial in some launch conditions if you are a few hundred RPM off or the angle isn't there. Same with moving weights around. A clubhead weights 200-220 grams. You are shifting a fraction of that to move the CG slightly. It can matter, again its more about fine tuning. As for grip size, this is more personal preference. Grip size doesn't have any impact on the swing out of personal preference.  You are going to spend hundreds of dollars for fine tuning. Which if you want, go for it. I am not sure what your level of play is, or what your goals in golf are.  In the end, the golf swing matters more than the equipment. If you want to go to that level of detail, go find a good golf club fitter. ChatGPT is going to surface scan reddit, golfwrx, and other popular websites for the answers. Basically, it is all opinionated gibberish at this point.

    • Well the first advice I would give is to look at your swing. If you are swing out to in, it may be difficult to fix your misses with club adjustments. They would only be a bandaid. I use midsize grips because I have long fingers and I feel I have more control with them. I also have tinkered with shaft length and swing weight. But I know when I miss it’s because my swing was off.
