Fed Ex Cup format changes...again

So it looks like the tweaking has continued. After 2 uneventful 'playoff' seasons where the winner was predetermined heading into the Tour Championship, it looks like they have finally come up with a more wide open format.

What are your thoughts?

I think it's a case of trying to fit a large square peg into a small round hole but whatever. Maybe three times is a charm. At least it's not as known the DHL Cup.

I think it's a losing battle. How do you make the lead-up games matter while still somehow "assuring" that the tournament isn't wrapped up before the final? I don't see how you can do it. Maybe if you make the final winner-take-all and use the lead-up tourneys as qualifiers, but that doesn't really mesh with the PGA Tour format.

I still think the best format for the last tournament is match play. If they did that, I think it would definitely generate more excitement for the final round.
