Well I was just wondering Some good books to help me. So far I have learned from random playing partners that I get as I don't know anyone out where I live that plays. I have tried some dvds but that's just not how I learn. For me in school I did better reading than more seeing videos. I am hopeing that this is the same for my golf game. So, for the next season I want to revamp everything and I was wondering what good books there are to help. If you have a good book that you used I would like to hear it. Christams is rolling around and I have to give people ideas as I am tired of hearing it. Thanks community.

Stan Utley's book on putting is excellent.

Dave Pelz short game bible is also very good (but he's wrong about putting...)

Also an excellent book on the mental side of the game is Bob Skura's 'How Great Golfer's Think'. The story throughout the book is terrible but the insturctional points are excellent. There is a brilliant tip about goal setting 'mini goals' that has helped my game a lot this year.

If you just want to read about Golf then Michael Bamberger's book, 'To the Linksland' is a favorite of mine.

That's it for me. I look forward to reading other posts on this topic as I too love reading about golf and learn a lot this way.

Another rave for Stan Utley's Art of Putting book.....very straightforward....very functional. It was the best $$ I've ever spent on golf....no kidding.....of course I really, really needed help with putting. If your confident and comfortable with your current style of putting, then maybe you'll wanna skip this read.

The two golf books that I've read are Ben Hogan's 'Five Lessons' and Harvey Penick's 'Little Red Book'. There are topics on this forum in the reading room if you want to read more about them but I'd recommend them both and both can be found pretty cheap.
