I am not sure what I am getting for Christmas, however, I came up with a great way to get what I want. I made a folder titled "Dad's gifts" on our computer's desktop. I then went to all the items I want and saved the page into the folder. That way my wife can choose from an assortment of items and price ranges to select from by just clicking on the links in the folder. The link takes her to the exact item, size, color...etc that I desire. I put links to about $3000 worth of stuff. I know I won't get it all however I will get what I want.

Advice: The Golfer's Warehouse (TGW.com) pages did not save correctly for me. Golfsmith, amazon, and gppgolf all saved perfectly. I didn't check golf galaxy yet though. I tested each one because my wife is clueless about computers.

If she's clueless about computers though, will she be able to order the things online by herself?

Oh yeah. Once she gets to a website, she overcomes her cluelessness and is able to spend money. Maybe it's a female gene.

However, if she has to go to another window, results may vary.

the only way to guarantee success is to ask for a gift card. What you want and need is constantly in flux. Gift card provides ultimate flexibility.

Screw him, Norm. I make a list every year too. I just type mine up in Word and put links to the web pages. Then I can e-mail it to my mother-in-law (she spoils me) and all she has to do is click and "add to cart". People would think there was something wrong with me if I didn't make a list. Plus, people ask me every year, "What do you want for Christmas?" I take all the guess-work out.

Your idea is even better than mine. In the past I never did this, however, since my wife knows nothing about golf and she hates to give gift cards, this seems to work well. She at least gets to decide if she wants to go out on a limb and get me a uPro or something.

Just thought I would post this in case somebody had the same type of issue. Some of the people here actually get angry. Like the guy that got upset because I said that Pro V1Xs at $30 vice $40 is too good to be true. Get a life if this actually makes you angry.

In these economic times I'm avoiding gift cards. Circuit City, Borders and other big name companies are all flirting with bankruptcy. It is possible that a gift card from a retailer that suddenly comes into financial hardship could lose all or some of it's value overnight. I'm recommending to people that if they want to give a gift card they should instead give cash. Cash won't lose it's value and can be spent anywhere. Yes gift cards can easily be used for online purchases at that particular retailer, but the risk is real.

There are also gift cash cards, where they are useable anywhere.
