Hello All,
I am still a beginner, but seem to hit pretty well at the range. I have been going to the range or to a course three days a week for the last two months. My question is, the last two times I hit at the range, less than 200 balls each time, afterwards, my left ankle hurts when twisting it. I am right handed, and am wondering if anyone else has experienced this and what may prevent this. Am I trying to get too much follow through and am torquing the anle too much. You would think that if this were to happen, it would have when I was starting out. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

That seems strange, but you should be able to prevent it by flaring your left foot out a bit at address. That way it won't be twisted as much as you follow through. Hope that helps a bit.

I use to have that problem and sometimes still do. I believe its because the ankle's ligaments and muscles are tight and still cold. If you have a hot pack, put that on, jog routinely, or get a doctor. I usually just rub my ankles with my hands when I practice and it hurts. I know what you mean. Sometimes it feels really bad and your swing feels crappy.

Thanks for the input, come to think of it, I normally play or go to the range just after working out. I di dnot the last two times when it hurt. I'll have to warm the ankle up a bit I guess. Thanks again.

    • Thanks! Better though? Not worried about overdoing it yet. These were also the best videos of several I took. More to be done for sure but moving in the right direction I think.
    • Can be out and up a little more. Not quite over-done yet.
    • Down the line and face on from today. Still feeling like I’m sticking the club into a hole in the ceiling above my right shoulder and then big loop inside to start downswing. That’s how it feels. Not how it looks though! Gotta keep working on this for a bit but I see a lot of progress. 😁
    • Day 5 (13 Mar 26) - Friday shootout cancelled- made it a practice round working from mixed tees. Plenty of up and down work around greens.  Best was a hole out birdie on the par 3 #5 hole - nice pitch and roll w/Pw from about 10yds off the green - dead center flagstick drop.  Much of round was focused on getting solid weight shift into lead foot.
    • Day 208 3-13 Worked on wrist arching and flow. First time hitting reall balls at a range in months. It was nice to see ball flight. Still not sure it beats my backyard practice station.
