The new 909D2 & D3's (i never looked at a DComp) have the Mitsubishi Diamana & Aldila Voodo's.
The diamana shafts are solid but the new aldilas are horrible. I have an Aldila NV in my 3-wood which feels solid, so when i was looking at the new 909's i thought i'd try the new aldila.
I felt that the Voodo's were unresponsive and felt like they were made of solid concrete & i would just get a sharp vibration up the shaft when i hit the ball no matter how i hit it.
For a stiff shaft i couldn't get the ball to go low or even a mid launch it was just up, up and even more up.

I dont know if its just me but i think that titleist could have gone with a better stock shaft e.g YS-6 (S) like the 905R's (may not be the newest shaft, but definantly a better more applicable shaft)

Anyways i guess thats why they have the option of getting a shaft fitted.
I ended up getting a D3 with a UST Proforce V2 shaft, when i went the get fitted i was thinking D2 with a ProLaunch RED (Graffalloy) or Diamana, but hey the pro's know what they are doing because i got my D3 yesterday and played my first round with it today and probley only hit 1 bad drive and hit about 11/14 fairways and put that 1 bad drive deep in the jungle (still made par ). Ended up with 4 over 2nd shots were pretty scrappy on 2 of the 4 par 5's

You forgot to add "... for me." The new shafts may not be the best fit

for you . They sell for $350 to $400. The shafts alone. They're not horrible.
I felt that the Voodo's were unresponsive and felt like they were made of solid concrete & i would just get a sharp vibration up the shaft when i hit the ball no matter how i hit it.

I played them and have just about the opposite feeling.

For a stiff shaft i couldn't get the ball to go low or even a mid launch it was just up, up and even more up.

That I may agree with - they seem to launch the ball a bit higher. But often people want a launch angle lower than optimal, too.

I dont know if its just me but i think that titleist could have gone with a better stock shaft e.g YS-6 (S) like the 905R's (may not be the newest shaft, but definantly a better more applicable shaft)

Again, they went with one of the leading shafts on the market.

Anyways i guess thats why they have the option of getting a shaft fitted.

Yes. I recommend everyone take advantage of it as you seem to have done.

i have the d2 with the voodoo shaft, for me its the best shaft i've used, i didnt like the diamana at all, felt dead. that being said im a lowball hitter, so the voodoo is just right, looking in to it in my fwy wood.
