My lovely wife, knowing I wanted new irons and hadn't saved my money, more than pitched in and bought me a set of Taylor Made R7 TP irons. They arrived today! Beautiful. The only downside is that we have 6 inches of snow on the ground with another 6 to 10 arriving tonight. God I love her. After 24 years she's still the best.

Congratulations and Merry Christmas! My major wish for Christmas is the book "John Adams" by David McCullough. I just finished "1776", and it was great. My family knows that I already have "Arnie and Jack" by Ian O'Connor, which was a gift from my wife a couple of months ago. My only golf wish is that my son and I get to play at least once this year, preferably on his course, at St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York, where he is the Head Pro, and my granddaughter, Ryleigh, goes along with us. John is her Godfather, and uncle. That would be a great gift.

i met mccoullough, and his son is a english teacher at my high school. We were forced to read 1776 and i absolutley hated it, sooo boring.

I happen to love history, especially about the War for Independence or the War Between the States (NOT really "The Civil War"). It is understandable that you or others may find "1776" boring, because of all the details, and the way the narrative has to follow the correct sequence of events. However, to someone like me, that process is interesting because it is based on actual events, as opposed to a work of fiction. Some people would never be able to read more than 10 pages of William Shirer's "The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich". When I started it, I could not put it down until I finished all 1,483 pages. To each their own. By the way, I do like reading novels and other works of fiction.

congrats. I can only hope that I get a not only great long lasting relationship, but one that grants me gifts like that ;). A trip would be a nice gift.

Eventually, I'll get the hint and stop advertising, which is against the rules.

my girlfriend, now my wife suprised me with my first set of irons, 22 years ago, Ping Eye 2 Becu 3-pw with a red Sunmountain golf bag. I still remember when I saw the bag and new irons I just started yelling so loud that our neighbors were wondering whats going on next door. I yelled for about 5 minutes with excitement, I still remember it like it was yesterday.

Congratulation, I know how you must feel!

    • I know. I was just kidding. BTW - I'd take the second place with the meltdown. It would at least make a good story.
    • That answers my question.  That feels more natural to me. I'll work on that. Thanks
    • Complex question. Good players begin pushing forward around P2. Visibly around P3. They're well on their way forward at P4.
    • Still plugging away with the teacher.  I do have a question after working on some drills last night. This is something I should know already but for some reason, I have gotten myself confused. It deals with weight transfer on the downswing. At what point, should that take place?  Should it be early (prior to reaching A4) ?  I ask because in one of my drills  I get to A4, I feel the weight transfer AS my arms drop, and then go.  Now this may be totally normal, but I "feel" like this gets me in a weird timing position and causes me to try and do too much at once.
    • Tentatively in for at least one of those days. My job situation is a bit up in the air at the moment so need to get that sorted out first then I'll know more for sure or not.
