If you have seen my other post you know i want to replace the woods and hybrids in my bag.
Below is a showing of my current set up with average distance i hit the ball with the club.

My current setup:

Driver 9.5* (indoor simulator gave me a 230 average but i had some begginging duds so i would say around 250)

3 wood 14* (220-225, off tee distance, can't hit current one off ground)

5 wood 19*(about 220 cuz that is how long the par 3 is and i hit the green or i am a little deep, probably like 210 off ground)

hybrid 24*(180-190)(hit green on par 3 that card reads 187 but i only use it if tees aren't way up front in tee box)

Setup i would like to go to:

Driver 9.5* (250)(Already new so no change here)

5 wood 18* (215-220)

7 wood 21*(215)(only be getting this if the 5 wood carries too much on par3, i would hit both my curren't one and new demo one in simulator)

23* hybrid (180-190) (pretty much replacing hybrid i already have)

So just please reply on what you think is good and bad about the setup i would like to switch too.

Not knowing nothing about your game beyond what you have said, it looks like a good fit to fill distance gaps would be to go with 4w (about 16-17*), then 2H (17-18*)and/or 3H (20-21*) and/or 4H (23-25*). I think the 2 or 3 hybrid is a better choice than 7 wood just because of versatility and ease of use, although lots of people love higher lofted woods. The 4 wood takes place of 3w and 5w - easier off turf than 3 wood, but longer than 5w. The biggest issue with setup as I mentioned is getting the right gap fill-ins between 4w and 4h. I'm usually fine with about 15+ yard gap between my fairway wood and next longest club, but after that I want closer to 10 yard gaps. Some hybrids can have loft and lies adjusted (like my Mizuno hybrids), which would help.

I don't think what you're considering is bad, though. It really just comes down to what you like and feel most comfortable with. It's nearly impossible to have the perfect club for every distance (unless you want to petition USGA to allow 20+ clubs ). Good luck with whatever you go with.

If that's really the distance you hit the 5W and 7W, I'd think about a different setup. Having both in your bag w/a distance gap of only 0-5 yds (according to your yardages). I might be tempted to leave the 3W in your bag at maybe 15/16* to get the 220-230 distance, so you would have D/3W(16*), then a 19ish* hybrid to get you in the 200-210 range and then your 23* for the 190 range. Just my thoughts.

What I play:

I carry a 17* 4-wood (215yd), 21* 7-wood (200yd). I have a 19* hybred but I hit the 7-wood better over all so the 19* stays at home. I use a 22* & 25* hybreds that I hit 185 & 175. As was mentioned, not much use carrying 2 woods that are only 5 yards difference. You could use a large head 3-wood to use off the tee or a High loft 2nd driver.
