I dont play a Bullseye anymore, but Ive owned a couple Bullseyes; an original and a standard.
I personally prefer the original just because its a classic, timeless design. I dont think you could say that it performs any better or any worse than any other Bullseye, thats just the original design and its a timeless design.
One thing I always liked about the Bullseye is that it gave you great feedback. If you mishit, you could feel the difference and you knew why you missed that putt.
With a lot of today's putters, there isnt a whole lot of feel, so when you miss a putt you arent exactly sure why.
With a Bullseye, you know when you mishit and that helps you to know why you miss putts and helps to make you a better putter.

I have always wanted to get a good one. I can put very good left handed and would like to have one to give me the option of putting either way. Especially on putts inside of 6 feet.

I will judge my rounds much more by the quality of my best shots than the acceptability of my worse ones.

OK boys and girls, here is your history lesson for today.

Notah Begay III, the only full-blooded Native American on the PGA Tour, Putts that way. In addition to winning 4 PGA Tour tournaments, Notah became only the third player in the history of professional golf to shoot 59 in a professional event at the 1998 NIKE Dominion Open (after missing a putt for 58!!!!).

On left to right putts, he putts left handed, and on right to left putts, he putts right handed, all with the same putter!

I dunno what he does if the putt is straight!!

I think he played with a Scotty Cameron bullseye, which you can still buy (I think).

I used several many years ago, and you just can’t beat the feel of solid brass!

I never cared for the models that had offset in the neck. You have to be careful when you get angry on the greens. I slammed a bullseye on the ground once after missing a putt, and BENT the heck out of the neck!

To this day, my "liking" of the bullseye determines what modern putter I use.

My 2Bar putter at address looks like a bullseye (with all kinds of stuff attached to the back). That is to say, there is no offset in the 2Bar blade model I use, the shaft goes straight into the head with NO BENDS...

I like that, and if you use a bullseye, you will like it too!!!!

Good Luck and ENJOY!!!

Titleist no long makes that club. You can still buy them on Ebay, but even ones that are a little beat-up still go for a pretty penny. Ive seen a few go for over $100 and even those were far from being in good condition.

It seems like people will pay just about anything for a club that says, "Scotty Cameron" on it...

I just got one last October from a local shop here it was among the many putters in a bargain bag. Now prior to this classic I was using an odyssey white hot xg7. Anyway with just the intention of window shopping, i saw the bargain bag of putters and saw the bulleye putters in there, i decided to try them out, until i found one Acushnet Bullseye Flange. It was a bit heavy but i like the feel so i decided to give it a go on the putting mat. I made 5 for 5 (which is a surprise for me!) and proceeded to make 5 straight more! I fell in love...and for $25 you couldn't ask for anything better.

So my OWHXG#7 is on vacation now, I am very happy with it so far...

Im not really a fan of those elasomer-faced putters. They dont have the initial skip that an aluminum or brass-headed putter has, but there is just no feel.

I tried a Sabretooth at a local sporting goods store last summer and it putted nice and the level of craftsmanship was great, but it just had no feel. For me, putting is all about feel.

I tried one briefly several years back. It felt really nice but I simply didn't put well with it.

I now prefer the heel / toe weighted cavity style....more forgiving and the alignment line really helps me.

I have a bunch of putters that I have collected through the years. All that might have once given me the confidence on the greens. "Flavors of the month" if you will. But, I've come to realize that this Bullseye putter belongs in my bag due to the simple look, great feed back and constant performance that I continue to have with it.

I collect Bullseye style putters and play my rounds of golf with same. Here are a few photos, from left to right:

Brass Bullseyes from Titleist (the top one is pre-Scotty, the SC engraved model was sold by Titleist after Scotty had refined the brass Bullseye).

Side view of same two brass Bullseye Standard model putters.

Carbon steel material Bullseye with black oxide finish that Cameron named "Classic III"  and had produced for his own company, just prior to his joining Titleist.

    • Ty-Webb Why did you not get relief the from the channel filled with pebbles originally?
    • To set the scene it is the 2023 AMCC conference championship at Indiana CC (Indiana, PA). I walk off 8 flustered after making a triple bogey with a GIR (putted off a false front; and took a couple to get back on). I get to 9 a drivable par 4, and in front of @iacas top the ball so bad it jumps back staying in the teeing area. Since, like many of you I'm sure, I watch the USGA rules videos they put out on Instagram and YouTube, I knew rule 6.2b(6) which states if the ball does not leave the teeing area, you may retee anywhere in the teeing area with no penalty (hitting 2 of course). After embarrassing myself completely and showing & explaining the rule to my playing partners I walked off the hole with a bogey.
    • I don't think it is concept that is hard to grasp. Most people who complain find an S&D penalty too harsh for a lost ball that is presumably inbound/in a non-penalty area.  I suspect because in other sports, when you loose a point, you loose only THAT point. While that is an apples to oranges comparison, to the casual golfer it's a bit of system shock.
    • I don’t understand why this concept is hard for people. If the ball is lost, it is lost. It doesn’t matter where they think it should be, or whether they feel like it should be lost. The bottom line is they don’t have a ball in play. I play with some people that will just drop with one stroke (if they even take a stroke at all). Frankly, I don’t care since it’s not a competition, but if they go bragging at the bar later that they shot “85” because I will call them out on it every time.
    • I played in Open Qualifying about 25 years ago. I got to the last hole - I shan't share my score, but it wasn't good. It's a long uphill par 4 with the clubhouse just long left of the green. The clubhouse is out of bounds. I hit my second shot left and it got a firm bounce. Get up there and the clubhouse has a patio. Between the patio and a grass is a little channel filled with pebbles. In that channel is my ball. Channel is in play, but hardly ideal. About 8 inches behind my ball also in the channel is a sprinkler head. So I asked an official who happened to be on the patio whether I got relief or not. He had me set up to it and take a backswing. My club hit the sprinkler head (harder than I would have liked). He asked me to do it again (side note - WTF?) and I hit the sprinkler again. He begrudgingly gave me relief and I dropped it on the grass, pitched on the green and missed from about 8 feet. Holing it would have allowed me to break a certain score threshold I'd rather not flirt with. Following year, I played same course, same event and I played a LOT better. I birdied 17 to go back to even par for the day. Friend of mine told me it looked like even was playing off for last spot, but birdie on 18 would get me through (this was local qualifying, so through to final qualifying). I hit my drive in the heather right, went for it from there and pulled it heather left and wound up making double to not be in the play off (which wound up being about 8 people for 2 spots). But I digress - anyway, as I walked off 18 green I walked over to the patio where the scorers were and noticed that they had painted a white line on the grass next to that Channel, so they fixed my issue from the previous year, albeit in a way that would have been much more detrimental to my score.
