I tried a milled putter in my local's pro shop and i loved it. I think it was a ping but i don't know which one can anyone help? it wasn't a redwood by the way. Can anyone recommend a cheap one! preferably a Ping - not a Scotty, I am only 16! Would probably be willing to spend £80 which is about $120

Do some homework and be advised all milled putters aren't the same. The stainless steel milled can and do (to me) feel different than the carbon steel milled putters do.

We have a local golf shop, Bonaventure Golf on Bobby Jones Expwy.(talk about a sweetly named address) that sells used clubs at fair prices. It is amazing to me the deals seen on used Camerons. You just have to be vigilant. I saw an awesome Sante Fe Terrillyium (spelling?) that I wished I'd have picked up.....it was selling for $90...no dings or blemishes other than some light rusting which I think I could have removed with destroying the finish....had the putter worked out well, I could have sent it to the custom shop for a full refurb.

Check on Ebay for some great deals....they are out there if you are patient.

I really like the feel of the Circa '62 series.....you get almost stainless weather protection but with the feel of carbon....several different looks within the line....of course I like the 35" wands anyway.

I second this. Cleveland also offers a non-VP version for $80. It sounds like a great deal.

I received a Nike Unitzed for Christmas. It is forged and milled out of the same 303 steel as Camerons and Redwoods. I picked it out for my wish list so I know my girlfriend got it for $85 new on TGW. They had a 15% off sale that week. They can still be had new for $100 most places. I don't think the "unitized" angle took off real well, so what was a $250-$300 putter is now greatly reduced. I got the Leo style and it has a sweet feel when you hit dead center. It has a nice smoked look as well, if that is your thing. Are the Nike's as good as the other top brands? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

It's funny how I never hit anything but the center of the face on my old putter for the last 3 years. I had been playing a G5i Craze-E putter. That thing was awesome. It has a high MOI and soft insert. The truth is, I was hitting it all over the face, I just couldn't feel it. I think you will like a milled blade.

I agree with the VP Milled, but if you want another that is GREAT quality that can be had even cheaper and you can also customize the headweight and even back weight it I'd check out the Wilson Staff Kirk Currie line. These were top dollar putters when they came out and are beautiful. They offer different designs and can be had for under $50 usually. I have a KC1 and will not get rid of it even tho' it's not in ythe bag at this time.

I would have a look at the new range of cleveland putters, very nice and only cost around £60. Or have a look at the Nike Unitized range, they are very similar to Cameron Circa 62 models.

I took a look at a couple of the VPMill Clevelands at my home course's pro shop yesterday when I was putter shopping. One of them reminded me of the Rossie-styled head and really set up great.

I was impressed with the value of the stick, too.

I agree with others or saying. if youre looking for a milled putter for reletivley cheap then clevelands new line of VP putters is for you. I hit a few with their anser style heel/toe weighted one and the feel tends to be more on the firmer side rather than soft. I would say they are very comparable to ping redwoods.

I recently bought a Cleveland VP1 putter and it has been great. It is slightly outside of his price range if he is paying retail. Retail on the VP line is $150 US. Perhaps it could be found cheaper online.

They also have the classic line of putters which is made from 17-4 stainless steel instead of 304 stainless that is used for the VP line. Not sure what the differnce in the metal is I ended up with the VP more by chance. (It felt the best of all the blade putters I tried out.) Anyway, I think the classic line is the less expensive ($80) model.

I think the Nike Unitized putters get a bad rap because if the kinda gimmiky unitized thing, but I really have come to like my Unitized Leo. I like the forged/milled 303ss head, I like that it feels really heavy (don't know the actual weight), I like that it has a stepless shaft (didn't realise I even wanted this before), and I also like the way there is no join at the hosel (I guess I like the unitized gimmic as well). The thing just feels really good on pured strokes and I can actually tell where I missed it (heel - toe) when it's not pure.

I didn't like all the paintfill on what was supposed to be a clean design so I took all of it off and blacked out the grip... Now I feel it's truely "unitized" :) and I really like the look a lot now.

Best part $35 off eBay ($45 after shipping to be 100% accurate) and I got to peel the plastic off the bottom (meaning it was almost brand new).

I really just got this to see if I'd like gaming a milled vs insert after having a Ping Isopur II. I planned on getting the Black Series #1 milled but I really think I'll keep the Leo for a long while.

Highly recommended by Lefty-22: whatever that's worth :)
