I hit my hybrid that came with my set fine but my woods are horrible off the ground and i believe it is because it is of there deep faces. Below is a some dimensions of each wood and i would like to know what you think of them. The head in general seems large compared to those of woods in the stores. The hybrid i love while the woods i hate. Because of this would you replace the woods with new woods of better technology or get hybrids that are easier to hit.

3 wood. 14 degrees
Face height 1 5/8" or 40 mm
Length from toe to heel = 3 1/2" or 90 mm
length from face to back end of head measured on crown of club = 3" or 80 mm

5 wood 19 degrees
Face height 1 1/2" or 40 mm
Length from toe to heel = 3 1/2" or 90mm
length from face to back end of head measured on crown of club = 2 7/8" or 80 mm

23 degree hybrid
Face height 1 3/8" or 35 mm
Length from toe to heel = 3 1/2" or 95 mm
Length from face to back end of head mesured on crown of club = 2 1/4" or 65 mm

look into some adam's fairway woods...i love the ovation 5wood, its got a nice low profile face and gets the ball off the turf nicely. i also like my nike sasquatch 3wood, not so much off the fairway unless i have a nice propped up lie because it has a really high face, but its fantastic off the tee where the adams isn't too great, but better off the deck.

I don't think it's a problem with the clubs. I think you think that it is a problem with the clubs. Because of this, you can't hit the clubs worth a darn. This is my opinion anyway. I am having the same thing happen with my 3 wood. I can't hit it for crap off the deck and used to think it was the club. Then I realized it's in my head (and my somewhat flawed swing) and NOT the club.

According to your measurements, there is a difference in face height (between woods and hybrids) of 5 mm. Do you think that you would have noticed 5 mm if you didn't measure it? 5mm is about half the length of an average pinky nail. That's pretty small and unnoticable. I think this deep face thing is in your head. When I started golfing, I had some not-so-great equipment. $30 driver, wooden woods, 20 year old dunlop irons, a Wilson SW, and some random putter. I always figured that if I could hit a crappy club well, then I could hit a good club better. Once I could hit a crappy club well, then and only then would I upgrade. I think you should learn to hit your clubs well, then upgrade...not the other way around. However, just buy a club already if you feel the need. You're becoming Hamlet with all of this innaction. This might be the forth thread on this topic...started by you...the same exact question. We've given you advice. You have your own opinions. Make a decision. Whether you decide to buy a club or not, make a decision. My advice would be to learn to hit your current clubs well.

I apologize for the repeated thread but several times i am looking for an opinion on a certain hybrid and the distances it achieves. I am one who does alot of research before a purchase and i keep on stubbling across new things. The newest one is the Nickent 3dx dc utility in 19 degrees. It is like a mini 5 wood that has a smaller head but bigger than a hybrid. I think i am getting this. It also has a bit shorter shaft than a wood so i will have more control. Plus it will help if caught in the rough. I believe somtimes things just need changed and good things will come of it. I do like the if it ain't broke don't fix it statement but to me these woods are broke and a fix is needed. I do agree with you that working with the clubs will help but since i want an upgrade and i can't hit them i will get a newer club and start out new and learn how to hit it.
