I've narrowed it down to pretty much two options.

Mizuno MX-23's used or Ping G5's new.

The Mizunos would be about 100 dollars cheaper.

So, which one would you take if you were looking for a forgiving iron set?

The Ping's will probably be more forgiving, but the Mizuno MX-23 is a great iron that will grow with your game. They are forgiving, feel great and are not beyond your skill level. If you plan to play a lot and really dedicate yourself to getting better, then the Mizzies are the best choice. If you're happy where you are and/or are just an occasional/recreational golfer then the Ping's would be a better choice.

Quick question: your signature says you have Titleist 755s, are you switching from those? In terms of forgiveness, the G10s are much more forgiving - not to say the 23s aren't. However, in terms of looks, feel, workability, and price the Mizunos would be an excellent choice of irons. The MX-23s are definitely more forgiving than the 755s if you want a comparison.

Yah, I ended getting these irons for a song as I had an older set of 690cbs with a similar head profile. I need to go back to something more forgiving.

What's more forgiving? The MX-19 or MX-23?

The MX-19 is quite a bit more forgiving than the MX-23 irons. They are more of a 'super game improvement' iron, whereas the MX-23 would be considered a 'game improvement' iron.

The MX 19's are more forgiving, The MX 23's are good, but your swing has to be on to get the most out of them,

I really like either the MX-25 or the MX-19. the MX-25 are forged and feel a little bit better than the 19's in my opinion. Its your opinion so I think your best bet is going to a store and demo them.
