First a little about me: I'm 6' 4" tall, wrist to floor of 38", been playing golf on and off since I was 8 (about 17 years ago), and I'm a very inconsistent golfer (shot as low as 80 but as high as 110).

So I went down to the local driving range and their guy had me swing on the lie board today with my clubs. My main goal was to see if the clubs I bought last summer need to be changed to fit my swing. No one had told me about getting your clubs "fit." After reading through this forum it opened my eyes to the world of golf club fitting.

Anyways, I've only played one round of golf this year and I shot a 95 with me spraying the ball all over the course. I figured I need to get my clubs adjusted since I'm tall and I've read most tall players get some type of adjustment made to their clubs.

The weirdest thing happened today, I was swinging the golf club today like a possessed man. I usually fade/slice everything with the ball flight being very high. Today, everything I hit was pure and straight. I was even drawing the ball a little when I wanted to! So the guy puts the tape on my club and I hit a few. Contact with the lie board is dead center on the bottom of the club and the ball is hitting towards the heel on the face of the club. He even let me swing some higher end clubs like the Callaway X-22's and the Titleist AP1 & AP2. I was hitting those pretty darn good too with the same contact spots using the tape and lie board.

So I have a question. He recommended that I don't need to adjust the clubs since I was hitting them so good, maybe add 1 inch to the length. But, was that because I was having a "good" day? He put a +1 length 2 degree upright in my hand and I was hitting that club good but with the benefit of better posture at address.

Is it worth the cost of changing the clubs? Should I go pay the $50 again another day to see if my swing is still the same?

Help!
