Hi,

In the next little while the Tour Edge Ironwoods are coming out of my bag, as I find them hard to swing with the steel shafts they came with. My driver and the 4 wood are new, and I am entirely satisfied with the 22* r7 Hybrid. I am going to get a 28* Ping G10 hybrid with a lite flex shaft to start and then G10lite shafted irons starting with the 30.5 * 6 iron.

Note the gaps

4 W 17*
r7 hybrid 22*
Ping G10 28*

I will experiment with this in the spring of course, but I think with my slow swing (80-85 mph) I don't think I'll get appreciable gaps. Has anyone else tried something like this or am I more out to lunch than usual?

6* seems a bit large just from looking at it. Most irons are 3-5* apart depending on whether they are longer or shorter. With longer irons, most gaps are 3-4*, so 6* may be too large. You've gotta see how far you hit each to determine if there is a big gap.
