I'm looking to buy some new set of iron, used set. I currently play x14s, but I'd like a set that is more forgiving and a bigger face maybe. I slice sometimes so a set that would also help me with that! I'm looking to spend less than $200 for a USED set!! thanks

Your index is listed at 36, so definitely look for something forgiving (as you mentionsed) For used iron sets with large faces under $200, look for the following:
Adams A2OS or A3OS boxer

did a quick search on ebay, you can find the aforementioned cheaper, and many others. I play the Adams A2OS and MacGregor MachTech NVG2 and use a MacGregor Vfoil m455. They are all forgiving with large faces. The MacGregors are forged, large faces, great feel, and cost effective (just about perfect in my book)

i bought my nickent 3dx rc irons new for 200 bucks... i love them, and the 3/4 hybrids are awesome... whole set is very forgiving... i have a tendency to hit my irons off the toe, and with the 3 hybrid I was still getting 220 yds and straight.

that adams set doesn't look bad, I don't really want a set with hybrids though. I've hit with hybrids but I prefer the 3 iron and 4 iron.

Which X14's are you gaming?

I've found them to be fairly forgiving sticks.

Good luck with the new irons....can be a lot of fun shopping around for them.

I kinda doubt you are gonna find anything much more forgiving than the X-14's you already have. Those are already about as forgiving as it gets. Maybe some super game improvement like the Big Bertha models from Callaway, Adams A4OS, Nike Sumos, etc. Also, I find it odd that someone looking for more forgiveness in irons would think they are better off with a 3 or 4 iron than a hybrid. Anyway, here are the reviews from the Club Test with some super GI irons you may want to investigate.

dam really i must really hit my irons bad then. I feel I often hit really good hits with my x-14's but the ball doesn't react like I think it should. I was playing with my friends Mx-19s and I was hitting shots so much better. What's the difference between the mx-19s and x-14s?

As I said, I have the 3dx rc's, and I love them. love the 3 and 4 hybrids.

I also have the 3dx square driver. it is kinda loud when you hit it, but it is very forgiving and has added a lot of yards to my drives. the mishits still go far which explains the big gain in yardage.

It just hits it straight, and with my skill level thats about all I could ask. Paid 67 bucks brand new on ebay, and you get plenty of bang for your buck.

    • Day 23: weird day, and only had a little bit of time. Just did mirror work again, working on where the elbow is in the downswing
    • I flipped over to this tonight and thoroughly enjoyed it. Anyone else watch? I picked it up during the golf relay event, but seeing these pros out having fun in alternative events was refreshing and entertaining. I’m sure it will be on in reruns in the next week or so, so I won’t spoil the outcome. Im curious what others thought of it. I’m recording it’s later airing to see the beginning.
    • Day 443 - 2025-12-17 Made a few swings in testing some things out at another academy. Might pop up on someone else's podcast in a few weeks.
    • Day 37 (17 Dec 25) - nine hole round with my good friend.  We got paired up with a couple of the men’s group regulars as part of their shootout.  Started off with a wonderful quad bogie and then a dbl on three to be six over thru three holes.  Game went 180° over the next five as I shot one under (including a chip in birdie on hole six and four up and down 1 putt pars) for a net finish of five over. What could have been a really tough nine became a solid finish due to staying in the moment and not checking out.  Great day in course management and keeping perspective .
    • Day 127 12-17 Backswing and flow practice. Took advantage of the 60 degeee weather(it was 20 degrees Sunday)
