Okay . . . I spent several hours over the weekend just using my wedges. Chipping up hill, down hill, over and over and over. I came to the following conclusion: I suck at golf.

I love my PW, I hit it well out to around 100 yards. My Vokey 52* GW does well from around 60-70 yards. My Vokey 56* SW does well from about 50 yards in. Around the green for 50 yards and closer, I am terrible with my 58* and 60* LW's. I hit the 58 better than the 60, and I can't hit shit with the 60.

So, I decided to ditch the lob wedges for now, and keep practicing with the PW, GW, and SW. I hit the SW best around the green, often putting the ball close to the pin (it amazes the hell out of me when a golf ball goes where I want it to).

Dropped the 3H (which I can't hit) for the 3i (which I can hit well most of the time), and added my 5W back to my bag. Until I can find a hybrid I can hit well, I think this is the set up I am going to use this year.

Only changes I am seeing is swapping my 52* & 56* Vokeys out for Spin Milled wedges.

Anyways, anyone else making changes to their bags before the weather gets nice? Always interested in what other people are putting in their bags, and why.

Steve

Haa i feel your pain.. I love my mizzy Mp series lob, so i go out and buy a matching 56..HATE IT! What the hell your the same club i should love you too, shouldnt i? No, so now im debating between a MP T 53 or a tour issue vokey 54 SM.. Tough!

I also putted horribly, missed 7 birdies inside of 10 feet. SEVEN! Straight pushes and pulls, and then i three putted one of those as well. So i am also changing my putter.. Screw you scotty cameron.. My new port has lost its mojo, and th TeI3 is just to long to play with. I am honestly considering my Old spider..Just completly change the look and maybe something will click with a mallet, or maybe a need a true true blade to find my stroke again.

I also made the change to project X's..which for once was a good choice, helped out my low ball flight, and get a little more 8 iron check..

Admists all this bad stuff, i did hit one 360 today with the D2/Whiteboard..that makes it all feel right again.

    • Day 23: weird day, and only had a little bit of time. Just did mirror work again, working on where the elbow is in the downswing
    • I flipped over to this tonight and thoroughly enjoyed it. Anyone else watch? I picked it up during the golf relay event, but seeing these pros out having fun in alternative events was refreshing and entertaining. I’m sure it will be on in reruns in the next week or so, so I won’t spoil the outcome. Im curious what others thought of it. I’m recording it’s later airing to see the beginning.
    • Day 443 - 2025-12-17 Made a few swings in testing some things out at another academy. Might pop up on someone else's podcast in a few weeks.
    • Day 37 (17 Dec 25) - nine hole round with my good friend.  We got paired up with a couple of the men’s group regulars as part of their shootout.  Started off with a wonderful quad bogie and then a dbl on three to be six over thru three holes.  Game went 180° over the next five as I shot one under (including a chip in birdie on hole six and four up and down 1 putt pars) for a net finish of five over. What could have been a really tough nine became a solid finish due to staying in the moment and not checking out.  Great day in course management and keeping perspective .
    • Day 127 12-17 Backswing and flow practice. Took advantage of the 60 degeee weather(it was 20 degrees Sunday)
