small greens

I play a course called stonehedge a few times aa year. Every green is between 8-12 yds deep and maybe 15 yds wide. All except 1 or 2 of their 27 holes are also raised 2 to 4 feet.
Its a short course, though. 300 yd par 4's. The 60 and 64 degree wedges come in handy.

My closest course, 2 minutes away, has greens that are on the smal size. Some are sloped, a couple are domed and a few are flat.

The greens at my course are very small. I grew up on them so its really a good thing because it helps you zero in on your target more. So when i go to a big time course with huge greens im thinking "I have that whole green to hit, wow". So its kind of better to grow up on small greens because you need to work harder to hit them and you will become a better chipper because they are harder to hit.

Most of the courses I've played are old and have small greens. I prefer the smaller greens, I have more fun with a sixty foot chip than a sixty foot putt.

the course i play has a good mix of really big greens and a few small ones... ive played a course where the par 3's are all turtle back greens... distance wise i can see why they are par 3's... but its impossible to make par on those damn things
