LOL, my TM Tour Preferred irons arrived from UPS and it looks like they backed a hi-lo over it and bent to 3 iron and 9 iron shafts to about 30 degrees flat. I got them off ebay, but fortunately the seller does high volume and is going to just ship me a new set and have UPS reimburse him for the damage.

how irritating. at least the ebay seller is being totally cool about it and hooking you back up.

To be honest, I wasn't even going to use the 3-iron, so I was really just out getting the 9-iron reshafted with a DG S300, so maybe $20 at the most and just having the lofts/lies checked to make sure they weren't altered, which I doubt they were.

The 3-iron would actually be a great club to play out from under a pine tree in its current state.

Oooooooohhhh, I'd be pissed!

Sounds like the seller is a class act and is taking care of things though.....kudos to him.

Care to share who it is? I like to do business with people that I know will treat me right if things go wrong.

thats EXACTLY what UPS is famous for. i know they are the cheapest when it comes to shipping larger boxes, and thats why larger retailers use them. i have over 2500 sales on Ebay. i use USPS 99.9% of the time because i learned the hard way over the years just how rough UPS is on their packages. within the past year i have used UPS 5 times only because the boxes were large and wouldve been twice as much to go thru the USPS. well, UPS completely DESTROYED 2 of the 5 packages i sent thru them last year (luckily i knew how hard UPS is on packages so i purchased insurance for each of those items). i didnt have a single problem with the THOUSAND or so packages i sent thru the USPS. thats pretty pathetic: 1000 packes thru USPS = No Problems. 5 Packages thru UPS = 2 Problems... UPS isnt careful with their stuff like the USPS is. someone once posted a photo of boxes being shipped with UPS and they were falling off the conveyer belt, one guy was climbing on top of boxes, etc. i should've saved it to post here..... oh, also, i played with a guy a few months ago that used to work for UPS loading trucks and he told me that they would break packages on purpose. he told me how it was during Valentines Day and they knew which boxes had glass vases in them, so him and 3 other guys would throw the boxes so they could hear glass shatter... i dont think that would fly with the United States Postal Service.

UPS loads the big semi trailers from top to bottom. They stack what are called "walls" of boxes and the really wedge them in to prevent shifting during transport. When we would unload those trailers on to the conveyors, of course we couldn't reach the top of the "wall". So you just start pulling boxes from the middle until the wall falls down. All I can say is if you must ship UPS you MUST package for the worst treatment ever.

In my bag are
Hibore XLS 10.5*
Hibore XLS 22* 3i Hybrid
TA7 irons 3-PW, SW
CG11 60* LW VP #5 putter.

UPS recently broke in two pieces the club I ordered from an eBay vendor. The vendor said that was the third club in a week that was damaged. It also took them forever to pick up the club and ship it back due to confusion over the return label UPS was to generate.

I've had all clubs shipped from the US Postal Service arrive in perfect shape. Not to say USPS won't accidently damage a club, but the rate of damage from UPS seems higher even though they are the more expensive service.

2011 Goals:
* Improve club-head speed to 90 mph with the driver
* Ensure increased speed does not compromise accuracy
* Prevent overextending on the back-swing (left-arm is bending too much at the top)
* Relax arms initially at address ( too tense)* Play more full rounds (failed from 2010)

    • Day 4, 1/2/26.  Played 18 today;  didn't get a chance to warm up (had I known the range was closed, I'd have hit balls at home first).  Played okay, 92 with three balls in the water.  It was raining for more than half the round and I didn't quite appreciate before today just how much I benefit from roll on both drives and approach shots.  I did not adapt well to this change until about hole 15, which is something I have to figure out.
    • Day 143 1-2 Arch wrist in downswing. Having a SLIGHT cup in the lead wrist at the top now. Only paused swings with some rehearsals before swinging at ball.  Used foam ball.
    • Day 459 - 2026-01-02 Had two guys on GEARS Hybrid, so I hopped on afterward (I'm going to do this a lot more often now). So… I've signed myself up for another month of backswing work in two ways: A little more extension of the trail elbow (got into the upper 90s) Less pelvis turn (low 50s).
    • Day 31 (2 Jan 26) - Usual Friday men’s group shootout - good day of shot making  as most shots were right on line to the target point.  Putter and green reads were solid with some great par saves and a really tricky birdie.
    • Day 13 - 2026-01-02 One hour short game work. Chipping balls to different targets, compass putting drill with 2-3% slope.
