After going to my fitting this past weekend, I realized how interesting it was in understanding and building clubs. Anyone in here have any suggestions on learning how to build or what the process is for becoming a club maker or fitter?

i just started building clubs for the first time. are you looking to build a simple set of clubs? Or become a club fitter? I can't help on being a club fitter, but I can help on making suggestions on club building.

here are a few websites to get you started. Club component sales companies http://www.hirekogolf.com http://www.golfworks.com http://www.golfsmith.com club building website http://www.build-your-golf-clubs.com...lub_build.html I built my first set of irons last week (with less then steller results) the process isn't difficult and I have learned alot about the game, and my desire for the game of golf has increased quite a bit because of this. The first set of clubs I built were a set of Callaway clones (not exactly the same, but similar) and the quality of the heads is good.

In my bag:

some golf clubs

a few golf balls

a bag of tee's some already broken the rest soon to be

a snickers wrapper (if you have seen me play, you would know you are not going anywhere for a while)

and an empty bottle of water

Golfsmith offers a free Saturday clubmaking class (about 4 hours.) They explain everything and then you build a sand wedge (which you keep). That's a good place to start.

The class is normally something like $20, but if you sign up for a Golfsmith rewards card (not a credit card, but a rewards program that is free) they give you a coupon to take the class for free.
