Younger sister is getting into it. Going out for HS golf team as a soph. Decent swing, did ok hitting balls with some older irons our aunt gave her. I was thinking probly some deep cavity irons that have alot of hybrids replacing upper irons. Also, and driver recomendations? Thanks

My sister plays Adams. They are great clubs for ladies and beginners.

My daughter plays Ping G5's, advantage is we got them through local pro so she was able to get fitted and hit different club/shaft combinations on the range. Right length, lie and SHAFT FLEX is critical. Any of the clubs mentioned are good options.

The hardest thing was finding a driver for her that was not too long (it's not that she's short, it's just that most drivers these days seem to be too long).

It is tough to watch kids, especially girls, who show some interest and ability for golf try to play HS golf with cast off clubs, or shortened men's clubs, etc. with no regard to the shaft that is right for them, etc. They get frustrated and don't really know that sometimes it is their clubs that are forcing swing problems, dictating poor results, etc. You want to say something, but you can't.

Good for you for checking on this. She should start out with clubs that fit her and are right for her swing.

Ping or Callaway. Ping would be what I would recommend though. (My wife says the colors are pretty too.)

Good points. proper shafts and proper lengths will either make or break her game.

We have had great luck over the years with Callaway Big Bertha woods and irons for the ladies. Other brands are fine also, but that's what we found to be the most "lady friendly" overall.

Thanks. I'm gonna go w/ her to look around one of the next few nights. I'm so proud :')

Of course it is best to get fitted to know her specs (at some point). But if you find something you like, and want to find it online, Rockbottom Golf has a decent selection of women's clubs at reasonable prices.
