Do you know your misses?

....for me it is currently different with each type of club. Lately I've been pulling my driver, cutting my woods, pushing my irons and hitting my wedges pretty straight. I just thought I'd bring up the topic because knowing my misses helps me score on those days when my swing isn't on...like everyday.

Today I played 9 holes to a 4 over 39 by playing my misses. Example: A fairway bunker on #2 (on the left about 210 out) has been grabbing my high pull, drives on the fly a lot lately. There's nothing like a plugged lie from 140. Knowing I would cut my 3 wood I did just that, away from the bunker. Then with about 125 to the middle and a pin in the front I hit a slightly choked down 9 iron (that didn't push) into the left-middle of the green. A good lag putt and a tap in made me think....maybe Hogan and Tiger are on to something when it comes to knowing your misses.

Driver... depends what day, but pulls and hooks are most popular.
3-wood - pulls
hybrids - never miss actually just no regular miss
long irons - short as a result of less than perfect contact
mid irons - back to slight pulls
short irons - don't usually miss
wedges - short right, result of a fade
putter - short, long, left, right... just depends

My most prominent miss, 90 percent of the time, is a hook. I hit a fairly high draw with all of my clubs and if my tempo gets off it will hook a lot more then I anticipated.
