Hi, i'm going to the Belfry next Sunday for my first custom fitting session, its with Callaway. I booked it a month ago when i was looking at buying Callaway x-22 tours. Since then i've tried the mizuno mp-52s on the range and love them. I've no intention of buying the clubs from The Belfry i just want the report. My question is if i go and have the fitting session with Callaway will i be able to use the report, buy and custom fit the Mizuno's or do i have to custom fit the clubs i want.

Hope this is not too confusing.

Thanks

I have never dealt with Callaway for a fitting, but the fitting itself should not be brand specific. It is quite possible that will try to make it Callaway specific in that they will take fittings and then point out the model that would best fit those specs. If they do what most fittings do, they will give you a listing of your 'specifications' such as lie, swing speed, club length, etc. which you could then take to any manufacturer (or use to order custom clubs from a local or online retailer).

Good luck with fitting. It's a great step (but under utilized) to improving your game.

Fittings usually are brand specific.
Mizuno clubheads standard lie angle is not the same as Callaways, so a 1* upright Callaway won't be the same as a 1* upright Mizuno.

Also a shaft that works for you with 1 clubhead may not work with another.

I agree with Surefire, if you want a Mizuno set, go get fitted with the Mizuno set.

Ogio Grom | Callaway X Hot Pro | Callaway X-Utility 3i | Mizuno MX-700 23º | Titleist Vokey SM 52.08, 58.12 | Mizuno MX-700 15º | Titleist 910 D2 9,5º | Scotty Cameron Newport 2 | Titleist Pro V1x and Taylormade Penta | Leupold GX-1

+1 for a Mizuno fitting. They are usually 1/4" shorter and at least 1* flatter than the Callaways. Try a little research of the two models on each companies websites. Check the differences in specs and you will see where the confusion will come in. As said previously one shaft could perform differently in two different heads.
