I have a UPro GPS that I bought last September. I've only had a chance to use it several times due to the long winter here in Michigan. I really like the unit and got it ready for my first round of the season. I started to have some issues and now the unit is dead.

The UPro GPS has a six month warranty, which mine expires next week. So I called their customer service to see about a warranty claim. The guy from UPro asks me to try a couple of thing but still no luck. So he says they're going to go ahead and send me a brand new unit using 2 day air. They're going to include a pre-paid box to send the old unit back in. I was almost shocked how helpful they were. I just didn't expect it to be that easy. I'm also leaving town on Saturday for a golf trip and the new unit should be here in time. Kudos to Callaway and UPro customer service.

It's nice to read positive experiences instead of the constant beat of the negative drum. It seems like any product reviews you read nowadays are, at best, 80% positive.

I may be in the market for a GPS (assuming I don't win the Leupold GX) in a year or so. I'll keep this in mind.

I just bought a uPro & used it for the first time yesterday. It works perfect....tells you all the distances you need at a glance. The unit is so small & light I kept it in my pocket while I swung with no problems.

I used to use a Bushnell 1500 rangefinder....but this GPS is 100% better!

Do you have to "calibrate" these instruments....or do you take 'em out of the box...download the course and they are dead nuts accurate?

Also...how long does the charge last on one?

No calibration needed....the upro works right out of the box.

I usually have more than 50% power after one round...so it would probably last 2 rounds per charge.

Took a look at these online and saw that all my courses were on there. Looks like a great unit.

Is the unit waterproof? What assesories do you recomend to get with it? Also...are you able to download course data, green dimensions and shape into your pc?

Dub - I believe it's water resistant. Rain drops probably won't hurt it but you wouldn't want to drop it in a lake.

I bought the rubber boot for it. I think that piece is worth it.

Can't transfer to your pc....yet. Probably could hack it out of there.

Cool. Those are handy units.

It's harder and hard to find marked distances on the courses. Many of our tee boxes on courses aren't.

The GPS units really speed things up.

I like how your unit shows the actual green layout...not just front/back/middle. The overhead view really shows what may be hidden from the eye.
