Long iron and FW distances

Right now i am carrying 11 clubs in my bag and would like to add another hybrid and/or fairway wood. I hit my 4h great and 5 wood pretty good aslong as it is fluffed up alittle. I havwe been practicing with it and getting better. I can't hit my 3w at all.

So my question is what clubs have similar distances? would a 3h and 5w have the same distances? 2h and 5 wood? My friend has a 4w i might game soon and see how i hit that.

I just don't want to get 2 clubs and realize they do the same thing. Thanks!

For most players, these comparisons work:

1H - 3W or 4W
2H - 5W
3H - 7W/2I
4H - 9W/3I
5H - 4I

The iron to hybrid comparison is somewhat more difficult because it depends a lot on the manufacturer as well as the player's ball flight. I have found that most of the time a hybrid is 1/2 to 1 full club longer than the irons with same number on it. In some cases it can be slightly more than this (often for a player with a low ball flight). As for the 4 wood, it's usually easier to hit off turf than most 3 woods because of more loft and a smaller head, but the distance is not that much less. If you have a 5 wood you're happy with than a 4 might not make since (unless you are getting rid of 3W and 5W and replacing with 4W).

My friend has a 2h and a 4w. I'll talk to him and see if i can take both out for a try. I don't think it should be a problem since he can't get on the course till about mid may b/c of baseball and he already let me use his LW. (side note: i don't think i will be getting one of those.) Right now i'm thinking if i hit both of those well i might get my own and ditch the 5w. Again, Thanks.

I had an Adams Idea Pro Gold 20* Hybrid...that I maxed out at 210 yards. That's how far I hit my 5 iron.
