My gf wants clubs, but she's no beginner. Her team won the state championship her senior year of HS. She plays her grandma's old titleist clubs that are almost blades. I went to the best golf store in my area and all the womens clubs are GI or SGI. I'm thinking of getting her a men's set? Obviously regular flex. She plays to like a 10ish.

I like Intech for low cost starter sets. They have a women't line... i think called Allante. I wouldn't go with a men's set... they'll be too long and likely too stiff.

A little late to this thread but here's another alternative to consider...

Go to Hireko golf and have them build a set of Lady Acer XP905 clubs. You can talk to their sales people and get a reasonable "online" fitting using all her specifics (height, athletic or not, beginner or experienced, etc.)

You can get a near custom set of clubs for a reasonable price. These are great quality components too. I built a set of these for my best friend's daughter and she is thrilled with them. She was considering buying a set of Callaway women's clubs but decided to have me build the Lady Acers for her. She really likes them and hits them well. Best part was that they were about 1/3 the cost of Callaways but very similar quality.

You can get a full set, less putter for about $300, custom assembled.

Hireko is a great company, has been around a while and stands behind their products.

    • Can be out and up a little more. Not quite over-done yet.
    • Down the line and face on from today. Still feeling like I’m sticking the club into a hole in the ceiling above my right shoulder and then big loop inside to start downswing. That’s how it feels. Not how it looks though! Gotta keep working on this for a bit but I see a lot of progress. 😁
    • Day 5 (13 Mar 26) - Friday shootout cancelled- made it a practice round working from mixed tees. Plenty of up and down work around greens.  Best was a hole out birdie on the par 3 #5 hole - nice pitch and roll w/Pw from about 10yds off the green - dead center flagstick drop.  Much of round was focused on getting solid weight shift into lead foot.
    • Day 208 3-13 Worked on wrist arching and flow. First time hitting reall balls at a range in months. It was nice to see ball flight. Still not sure it beats my backyard practice station.
    • Three hole match - microphones on in the cart. It's fascinating listening to them talk about their shots and how they play them. I'm not normally a huge fan of the TM videos - they seem forced to me - but this one doesn't. It's also fun seeing their competitiveness over what on the face of it is a fairly meaningless 3 holes, but they can't help themselves.
