I just came back from a demo day, and I got a whole ton of different golf balls to try (sleeves as promotional)

I was wondering for some opinions on a "everyday" ball and a "tournament" ball.

The balls I have right now (all the ones i have) are:

Callaway HX Hot Bite
Top Flite Gamer
Top Flite D2
Nike One Tour + Tour D
^^ those were ones from the demo day
(these are ones that I have in my bag)
Titlist ProVs
Bridgestone E5/E6
Titlist NXT's
Titelist DT Roll's / Carry

Yeah, I have a lot... so I was wondering what you guys think should be right for me (shooting around low-mid 80s now)... not too expensive but good. Thanks!

Your everyday ball should be your tournament ball, period. The only caveat being, if you play in a scramble and can use some distance ball off the tee.

Can't go wrong with the topflite gamer for an everyday ball. IMO the gamer is a superior low cost, high tech golf ball.

i agree, i'm a huge fan of the gamer. and at under 2 dollars a ball, its a great value for a three piece.

I've been reading a lot about the gamer recently and thinking about making a ball change. However, I've got 2 1/2 dozen noodles I gotta get through first, although a great ball for me. The gamer however, is a 3 piece ball which performs very well, very cheap. Hoping to pick up a couple to try them out.

I've dabbled with new balls lately and am well supplied with some NIKE One Vapors and Pro V1s. Both were experiments. Both have been really good.

Once my supply is gone, though, it's quite probable that I'll be going back to the Bridgestone E5+.....this ball simply gets is done just as well as the premium ones to me.....high spin and super distance.

I'm a big fan of the Bridgestone e series, I play the e6+ to reduce side spin. I think they are softer then the Titliest NXT Tour and cost less.

Craig

Yeah, wanna make 14 dollars the hard way?

    • Yes it's true in a large sample like a tournament a bunch of 20 handicaps shouldn't get 13 strokes more than you. One of them will have a day and win. But two on one, the 7 handicap is going to cover those 13 strokes the vast majority of the time. 20 handicaps are shit players. With super high variance and a very asymmetrical distribution of scores. Yes they shoot 85 every once in a while. But they shoot 110 way more often. A 7 handicap's equivalent is shooting 74 every once in a while but... 86 way more often?
